I know this is particularly annoying to hear from someone who is on the other side of this, but it is a life skill to be able to tamp down all your psychological and autonomic crazy in the face of impending news/decisions, etc. It will make life more palatable.

I'm trying to work on this for Step 1, which is another level of crazy. We'll see how this goes.

totally know what you mean, and my whole non pre-med world has been telling me this forever. I'm just trying inundate myself with various distractions right now, ya know the gist, SDN, collecting Sea Urchin gametes, fun stuff

I don't find it annoying, I find it as the truth. I was out of it for a bit at work today thinking about Thursday and it ended up costing me some money. But such is life. At least I snapped out of it and got the day done properly. No real harm, no real foul in this case. Thankfully.

One more day until decisions are out! Does anyone know what time of the day we can expect them? Any takers?

And also, are they going to be releasing all decisions or are they going to just release a lot and then gradually release more as the days go by?

I believe it was already answered that, as per last year, all the decisions will be released tomorrow afternoon at once via email telling you to check your status online.

AKA: Server could crash, this thread will blow up, etc etc. 🙂

Hah, thanks. So when you say afternoon, I assume 12pm on the dot, right? Which means 9am PST, which means the first thing I'm going to do when I wake up is check my inbox, right? Right? :meanie: Right?

Feeling strangely at peace right now, but I never got when they said they'd release decisions tomorrow. I don't remember ever being given a specific time. Where is this 12pm thing coming from?

I received the "status change" email at 8pm exactly on Feb 13 last year (and I remember the app site having a very vaguely-worded paragraph that I had to read a few times to make sure it actually meant acceptance :laugh:). A week later the official acceptance letter dated Feb 14 arrived at my house.

Like Ismet, I also received my status change email at 8:00pm EST, if that helps. So... yeah, might be a long day tomorrow if they do things the same way, especially if you're checking your email every 3 minutes from the moment you wake up. Try to stay calm guys! :luck:

Aren't they doing a lot of stuff different this year? Fingers crossed that maybe this will be something different also. If not, anytime not in class will be naptime for me tomorrow! :luck:
 
I'm not too worried about be anxious all day tomorrow because I'll be sedated so an orthopod can screw my broken wrist back together. Hopefully he'll only want to use a local anesthetic so I can shadow my own surgery :naughty:

As someone with a Y chromosome (at least I hope I have one, I haven't actually seen it), I send a hand written thank you note to my female student interviewer, a male faculty, and my host, but I would have sent one in any case.
 
Pitt is my alma mater. I hope that means something.

Honestly, I would be that person agonizing over receiving the email tomorrow, but I'm not right now. I think this whole process has made me a little detached and carefree. I guess I'm tired of wasting my mind on getting in. What happens, happens.

Pitt is the highest represented undergraduate school in most, if not all, classes here (18 in 2016), so take from that what you want. Keep in mind that ~6 come from the guaranteed admission program though.
 
In case you guys aren't a "fan" of Pitt Med on FB,

I think I'd be most interested in finding out how many people are going to Accepted/Waitlisted/Rejected tomorrow, especially considering Pitt is generally extremely conservative. Unfortunately, I'm sure there'll be plenty of questions about waitlisting and movement tomorrow, especially with this initial round of acceptances. I can't imagine they'll accept more than the class can hold, even though they have about a 60% turnover.

After yesterday's Orthopedics fest, the OR is a bit slow tonight, so I decided to try my hand at a bit of writing...

One day more

This euphoria talk is undoubtedly induced by a night at the bar and Backstreet Boys karaoke,
but I hope everybody can be happy tomorrow,
and if not, may your dreams come true in some other way 😀
 
This might be making some of you more neurotic, but last year the statuses went online the evening before they were scheduled to be released (or at least the waitlists were up a day early). I didn't receive an email about a status change until later the next day!

Just checked my status. I've been put on the second tier wait list =/

I guess its an accomplishment in itself to not get rejected, but still disappointed.

I didn't get any email about my change in status so I think people can start checking.
 
First tier waitlist - definitely disappointed - loved it here when I visited. Ah well. Good luck to everyone else. I never got an e-mail btw I was refreshing my status page and saw it.

I'd say definitely, especially since they may not be accepting many more students than there are seats in the class this first wave.

Still waiting for my status to change... the anxiety hadn't hit until I saw all the decisions rolling in here.
