I am In State and the only reason I am worried is because I have one interview so far from UTMB. Nothing yet from any other Texas schools.
Yeah definitely don't freak out yet, it gets worse because I interviewed at UTH last Friday the 14th and both my interviewers were extremely nice, but I could not get a good read on either of them. They had the best poker faces in the world so now I am just going over all the things I think went wrong in the interview because I couldn't read them at all. But definitely an awesome school and my First choice.
My application transmitted 8/28 and this is the only Texas School that I haven't received an e-mail confirmation. Is that normal or indication of a silent rejection?
Same here , 09/14, both interviewers were poker facing circles around me. At the end of the day, there was no telling.... It wasn't however a complete fail. UTH and TMC were simply amazing.
This is exactly how I felt. Now it's just a waiting game.
On another note, maybe some of the students have some insight on this: I have heard that UT-Houston tends to hold back on prematches (as opposed to some other schools that fill up a good portion of their class with prematch offers), is this accurate?

I have heard this in the past; however, I personally know of at least a half dozen people who prematched into UTH just within my (relatively small) major last year, so it's hard to tell if this is actually the case.
I'm not a student here but I think, while in comparison to other schools, they probably hold back more on prematches, they are tending to fill more of their class pre-match now than they did before. At least it has seemed this way over the last couple of years. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Just received an email for an interview on October 19th. I'm excited for this school. Can anyone tell me what the Houston area is like?
Congrats man 🙂 . Houston is a big metropolitan city that is spread out for the most part. Traffic will be an issue if your not from a big city so I suggest to plan your travels accordingly. I live about 25 miles from this campus and it takes about 40-50 minutes to arrive (leaving my house around 6-7am). In October the temperature averages around the mid to high 80's so that shouldn't be an issue. To blow off some steam after the interview you can head over to any entertainment venue around the rice village or midtown area. Any other houstonians are free to chyme in!
I received an II on 9-17 for 10-5 and also had to request a different date due to a conflicting interview. I got a bit nervous after not hearing anything two days after my request. Called the admissions office and was told I should receive a response by a week from the initial invite email. Got an email response on 9-21 and they were able to reschedule me to 10-19. Hope this helps!Received my II on 9-20 for 10-19. I'm interviewing at UTMB that day so I'm trying to reschedule. I sent an email asking if they could reschedule me for any other day but have not heard back. How long does it normally take for them to respond about rescheduling?

Congratulations on the intetview. When did yor application transmit if u dont mind
I'm still waiting for an interview invite. I got the confirmation email with a lot of red back on July 14th and have already interviewed everywhere else in Texas back in August/early September, but still no word from Houston! I'm a little hesitant to contact their admissions office since it's still kind of early, but what do you all think?
My stats are: IS, cGPA: 3.89, science GPA: 4.0, MCAT: 35R
It seems there has been very little activity in the Texas threads lately...
Its quiet...too quiet...
Maybe they're cooking up a big batch of interview invites hehe![]()
The interview was very relaxed. Houston had my favorite interview say so far, just because it was pretty un-stressful and the student body seems so enthusiastic
Still hoping for an interview here as I'm from Houston. Hope they show me some love this week.
