Anybody still waiting for initial action on their secondary? Seems like everybody here has already interviewed or at least has an invite. Am I the only dumb folk representin'?

Well, one of my friends got an interview invite like two weeks ago. He hasn't gotten a date yet, just the "We are going to interview you" email.

Maybe you should send an update to them! That may help get an interview.

Does anyone know if UW has a seat deposit?

The wait to March is going to be intense. This school has been my dream for some time now. And this entire process has made me want it even more! So I'm going to try to stay as busy as possible to get it off my mind and every time my phone beeps for an email, brace myself 😱:scared:

Are acceptances handed out for Idaho students after the March interview dates at the earliest? I wasn't really paying attention during the interview day presentation (my interview was in the afternoon so I was a little distracted).

I'm still waiting too. Do you mind sharing when you were complete?

I was complete mid-November, sent grades + update in mid-December, and another update in mid-January (few days ago). I thought the updates I submitted were pretty significant, but no response yet...

Really getting quite anxious about my app. I'm happy, of course, that I haven't been rejected yet, but it feels pretty nerve-wracking to not know either way.

You know, I didn't ask anyone that question. I was not thinking about anything past my interview at the time. But from last year's thread, there was a minimum of two people that got accepted a few days after their interview in Boise in January. Though I imagine these applicants are the all stars of the group (probably Olympians with a 40 MCAT who served as a Navy Seal ). Also, from last year people started announcing their acceptance/rejections directly after the second wave of Idaho interviews had passed.

I would really like to know if they review EVERY Idaho interviewer afterwards, or immediately reject some people post-interview. Does anybody know if it is possible to get rejected post-interview without a review from the entire committee?

Looks like I may have spoken too soon. I got the official rejection letter this evening. I'm pretty bummed, as I only applied to UW (couldn't see myself anywhere else).

Either way, what's done is done. Not sure there's a whole lot to be gained from dwelling on this, so I'm planning to take a few weeks to regroup and then start getting ready for next year's application season (I'm applying early next time!).

Best of luck to all who applied! :luck: Hope everything works out for you, as well, and maybe see you around UW someday 🙂

Were you a TRUST applicant?

Received the call on Friday and finally the e-mail today and still cannot believe I can say that I am now accepted into the UWSOM class of 2017 TRUST program. If I could start tomorrow, I would!

Congratulations!👍

No, I was not. Maybe I should have given that option more consideration...

I only asked because I was told the five people accepted for TRUST had been notified. Beyond that, I don't know how or when the acceptances are worked out. Hang in there!

Dang. Just got the "Still under consideration" email. That is the fourth one I have gotten.

I think the next vote will be different though. I still have a secret plan that I have yet to unleash. If I am still SUC after the next vote, I will initiate the process.

It involves calling the SOM and crying daily until they can't stand it anymore.

SUC number two. I am starting to realize I may not know where I'm going to med school until March, May, or later.

Boss. But really, that must be a difficult situation. Keep your chin up!

Well Spaceman, looks like we are headed into the Gauntlet. Here's to hoping they bump those Idaho seats up this year.

Greywolf... Did you apply to TRUST? Amen lets hope they increase the seats. Let the waiting until April begin #torture

I was talking with a group of people, got an email from SOMAS, and excused myself to the bathroom. After pacing back and forth for a few moments, I got the SUC email. Jesus that scared me.

No TRUST for me. I am a city boy, and as much as I love country music, from my understanding you must have lived/experienced rural living to even have a shot at those seats so I assumed I wouldn't even qualify. Maybe that was a mistake...

Does anyone happen to know when the next Executive Admissions Committee member meeting is?
Or is there an easy way to find out without making waves?

Ditto on the SUC email. I guess I should shoot them an update or something.

For those who are accepted and intend on attending, I have created a group called "UWSOM E-2013" on the FaceBooks. Why? Because I'm really damn excited!

Idaho applicant, SUC today. More waiting.

Congrats LolaMD! Do you remember who your EXCOM was?

You don't exactly have to have lived in a rural area, but you have to show that you are passionate about serving in a rural or underserved area in your future as a physician. This would be kind of hard to know or demonstrate to them if you have no experience in such a setting.

Could you provide a link? I just searched for your page and couldn't find it.

I personally know of one other person interviewing (Feb. 7).

Anyone got Idaho invite for March yet? Or been told they will be interviewed, just waiting for a date?

I am an AK resident from Anchorage and will be interviewing on the 7th as well. Anyone know how many interviews were offered for the Alaska program?

I heard 45, but I have no idea if that number is accurate.

Probably Thursday or Friday. It seems like they probably meet around once every two weeks at the end of the week from this thread.

Any Montana TRUSTees get acceptance calls yet? I'm thinking that that ship has sailed and I've advanced into the land of SUCdom, but a little closure would be nice.

I was curious about residency verification. I'm applying next year, but I lived in Washington for two years but am now in school at a different state. I want to make sure that I maintain my washington residency, do you know what they all look for? I called the residency office at UW but they weren't much help. Thanks.

Are there any plans or student push for 2nd year P/F grading as UW goes through curriculum renewal? It does not have any mention in this document even though two of the cited comments from applicants who turned down UW for UCSF mentioned, in part, the allure of 2 preclinical years of P/F.

I am pretty sure that during my tour the med student said that this has already happened.
