CAP is what they call their wait list, sorry there's no special meaning 🙁 You should know that a high % (over 50 I believe) of Georgetown's class comes from the CAP.

I'm not sure from my MDApps creeping the earliest I've seen is February, but that's a very small sample so who knows.

I just realized the reject waitlist accept trend isn't correct. The entire first interview date hasn't heard any news yet to my knowledge. There will be another round of rejections I'm guessing.

Lol well aren't you a pessimist? You're right no one has heard from 8/27, but n=2 and I'm from 8/28 and haven't heard either, but someone has heard from 8/29. You really think Day 1 and Day 3 are in two different batches?

Lol I guess I just really hope you're wrong.

As for our speculations about the order of notifications- I see the pattern you guys are seeing and I'd like to believe. It's tempting because there haven't been any acceptances that we've heard! Here's a quote from the guidelines

"Following an interview, applicants are notified of decisions of the Committee on
Admissions after October 15 as decisions are rendered. Due to the high volume of
applications to our school, it may take eight weeks following an interview for the
Committee to reach a decision on an individual application. "

Also. dr bauer, the wait list is unranked.

People have heard back from 8/27. My friend was accepted and he interviewed this day.
 
This. Is. Miserable. Put me out of my misery already...
 
Any idea whether people from 9/16 might be hearing anytime soon? So far I'm only seeing decisions for people who interviewed in August, and I'm getting antsy!
 
So nobody has received an acceptance? Just waitlists and rejections? Makes me think some acceptances will be out tomorrow.

I sure hope not I'm dying here! Then again we haven't heard decisions in a while....
 
Is it too late to submit a secondary to them at this point? I ended up changing my mind about georgetown and uva but im wondering if its too late in the cycle and i would be at the very back end of the pile.

At this point, I'm also debating whether to submit my secondary to Georgetown. Progress on secondaries has crawled quite slowly due to internships and coursework, and I'm seeing rejections for people with better credentials.
 
I would still give it a shot if you have the funds! A lot more things go into medical school acceptance than grades- I have a 3.3 sGPA and got an interview! You are definitely a little late but not too late to lose all hope.

What $500 deposit are you talking about? I interviewed on 9/9 and was wait listed but I haven't heard anything about a deposit... I must be missing something.

gotta be accepted to put down a deposit to hold your spot
 
Interviewed 8/28, still haven't heard anything. Is it possible we weren't in the first batch of decisions? This is so weird.
 
I find it hard to believe that they would render decisions on people who interviewed as late as 9/9 and not those in the first week. I'd say they are just taking their time and hopefully that's to our advantage.

So in an attempt to calm my nerves I've tried calling admissions a few times to see whats going on for us Aug interviews especially since we were told told call after the 20th. No one has picked up though 🙁 Hopefully that means they're hard at work getting out decisions?
 
Finally got a hold of someone and was told the committee has reviewed my app and reached a decision it just "needs to go up" which he said would be by next week.

Mrs. Sullivan (admissions person who talks with you during the interview) said the separating they do for the wait list is a pile of those who wrote the LOI (she had recommended sending it in within 3 weeks of getting on the waitlist) and those who don't.
 
Withdrew my interview invite today.

I hope that someone else will be able to take my spot. Good luck everyone who is still in the running!
 
Anyone who interviewed the week of 9/15 hear back yet? Anticipation is killing me.
 
I think someone was rejected from the 9/9 interview date but that's the latest decision I've seen.

Got an email saying my decision is up (interview 9/19) but I am not near my computer! Gah!
 
Got an email saying my decision was up as well. Result: waitlisted (I think this is the same as "competitive applicant pool", right?). Gah, guess I'll be sending a LOI sometime in the next few days.

I interviewed 9/16.
