I am on the Alternate List and waiting, does anyone have any information on how it works.
 
How long after an interview does it typically take for one to get out of committee.

How did you find out that you were still being considered? I can't seem to get a hold of anyone via phone or email.

You have to view it on the bison web website (bisonweb.howard.edu) logging in using your student ID. After that, you go to the financial aid tab and then it'll show you what requirements you stil have to fill out. Hope that helps!

Accepted! 😀 omg this is good news..... But they're only giving us 15 days to decide... I loved Howard so much. It's time to do some negotiating

Congratulations!!! When did you interview and what were your stats if you don't mind me asking.

No problem glad to help. I interviewed 4/2/14. As for the stats: sGPA: 3.88, cGPA: 3.7, MCAT: 29. If you have any other questions feel free to ask
 
Wait I'm confused...Does school start right after orientation or not?
 
Received out of committee email and that a decision has been made. Apparently the Dean has to sign the official decision letter before they can email you the decision. Has anyone else received this before? If so what was the outcome?

Did you have to email or call to know when you were out of committee?
 
Does anyone know what it means if your status on your profile still says "Interview not scheduled yet"? Does that mean there's still a chance to interview?
 
I was wondering if anyone on SDN knows what percentage of students on the Waitlist actually get into Howard? Also is there any type of ranking among the waitlist? Since it states in our pamphlets from orientation that the alternate list is not ranked, I was wondering how they pick who get in, and in what order? Thank you guys, the anticipation is killing me and I don't know where I stand.

Have they already started putting people on the waiting list ? I guess this means the class is already full 🙁
 
Yes the class was full starting last week. But I have herd that historically about 250 of the 300 interviewed get accepted meaning they accept around 250 ppl before filing there class of 118.

your still waiting on your decision to be signed?
 
I dont think there will be any news until spots open up. I think they are waiting on spots to clear up so they can sign more decisions.
 
This has been THE MOST unprofessional admissions department I have ever seen. Absolutely disrespectful to its applicants.

Nothing happened. That's part of the problem.

1) Not a single professional letter has gone out stating what this "alternative"/"waitlist" thing they are trying to do means. Why does every school manage to have a waiting list or some organized list and they are unable to create one.

One of many problems honestly. This can be a very long list because of how unorganized and unprofessional they have been.

Sorry to hear about your frustrations with Howard. From my interview day, I recall Ms. Walk saying that the waitlist is not ranked. Hence once it comes time to review applicants that are on the waitlist, every applicant is re-reviewed and assessed, in no particular order or ranking. Have you tried emailing them with the subject heading "Interviewed applicant" in the title?

Sorry you had a bad experience. I've heard this is a really busy time for them.
 
The admissions office is pretty understaffed, so I wouldn't take it personally.
 
Any news? I'm getting so very anxious these days. Check my phone like every 15 minutes 🙁
 
Things are not looking too good . I have no idea where I stand at this point. Classes start July 16. Really hoping for some movement this week cus this silence is draining me slowly.

Exactly what I mean by unprofessional. No school creates this weird no wait list/alternate limbo for students and waits until last minute to reject them. You're trying to tell me that they review the list every time a spot opens up? That is very wasteful and illogical.
