Sent one in 2 months ago still haven't heard anything from them.

Sent one on August 30th for the first week of November. They told me to "upload this information as an additional document onto your secondary so that we may continue to consider these dates for you." Silence since.

Maybe you'll have better luck than us.

Been complete here since 8/27... any hope left for me here?

I am in the exact same boat. I hope they will share some love soon!

I know that the website says that you will receive a complete email 4-6 weeks after you submit, but it's been 6 weeks for me and I haven't received one. I'm not sure if I should call/email and check on this? On the one hand, if I'm not complete I'd like to know so that I can do something about it. On the other hand I'm afraid this might be annoying to the nice admissions people who have thousands of freaking out applicants to deal with. Any thoughts? Has anyone else followed up on the complete email? Thanks!

I hit 6 weeks earlier this week (complete 04 Sep) and haven't received another email since submitting my secondary. However, I have a check next to "Application File Complete" in my application status.

Does anyone have any insight on this?
Should we have received an email in that 4-6 week window? Or is the email we receive as soon as we're complete the only one we see until an interview invitation or rejection (if it's not silent)?

I received a 2 sentence complete e-mail shortly after submitting my secondary. I believe that should be the only correspondence you receive until you are invited to interview. If it was me, I would call admissions to inquire about this if you haven't gotten it yet. Just my 2 cents!

I got this right after submission:

"This will inform you that we have received all forms and credentials required to complete your application. The Committee on Admissions will notify you as soon as any final action is taken."

I just wasn't sure if we are supposed to get another email in 4-6 weeks based on this from the secondary site:

"You can expect an email 4-6 weeks after you submit your secondary...."

But, it seems that the complete email received right after submission is all we get.

Thanks

I just called the admissions office today regarding the issue of being complete but not receving an email because I didn't get an email as well. The lady was hella dismisive with a bad attitude and could not understand my simple question regardless of the 50 ways I tried to phrase it.

In any case she grudgingly checked my status on her system and said my application was complete. So for those of you who never received a complete email but are marked as complete on your online status, you guys are fine.

Haven't seen any IIs for some time. No annoucents on the twitter feed either. What's going on? I'm assuming they're still going to send more invited this season.

Harder to say for me...I'm a non-traditional. 37MCAT, undergrad GPA wasn't great, but PhD and 2 Masters, post-bacc all 4.0

FYI, I submitted my application and, when my MCAT scores finally posted, started checking every day to see when my application would be complete (online it said I wasn't complete). Finally, after 2 weeks, I called and asked what was going on and they said that there was a problem with the website. A week later, the website said I was complete as of 9/13 (green check-mark), but I never did receive an email. I called again and asked about this and they said again it was a computer glitch, but that my application was complete and that it was being reviewed. Today I got the II.

I interviewed here recently and I'm in the group of people who preferred the MMI to traditional interviews.

I'm really hoping for good news from NYU in the new year!

I also interviewed here recently. Do you know what the turn around time is for decisions? Forgot to ask!

i haven't interviewed here yet, but on the website it says they're non-rolling and all decisions will be made in jan

Dates were all in December...first week still had openings.

if i'm not mistaken, on last year's thread folks were told they'd hear back in jan, but received acceptance calls in dec.

ugh feeling like silent rejection here 🙁 been complete since early august

Yeah same. Complete mid August and since they only interview until December and it seems like December dates are already filling up I'm guessing it's a silent rejection.

I'm curious if they'll extend interviews into January like last year or if that was solely due to Sandy.

does anyone know how many people nyu actually accepted last year? on the site it says 150 something matriculated out of 905 interviews. i was wondering how likely you are to get in once you're extended an interview....one of my top choices! still waiting to hear back and been complete since sepetmber🙁

I can't find anywhere if NYU accepts letters of updates before interview or not. Anyone know?

I have the same question. It seems that we can upload 'additional information' through the applicant portal but there is no guarantee they will read it.
Does anyone have thoughts on emailing a letter to admissions directly?

can anyone tell me roughly what dates are available for interviews? any in december or is it all in january now?

also, is NYU receptive to in the area emails?

Interviews end at NYU in December...

wat are my chances of getting an interview? 34 MCAT, 3.98 GPA, complete 8/22

I doubt it. They probably still have some spots open. You could always call or use the IM feature on their website.
If they didn't have spots open they would reject us all already ..

Agreed! It seems like with interviews ending in December, we have essentially been "silently rejected" at this point. What a shame... I really like NYU and was hoping for an interview.

A friend of mine in NYC has offered to write me a letter addressed to NYU. When her father passed from cancer I was there to help her, and witnessing the hospice care her father received is what finally inspired me to pursue medicine. Anyone have any ideas how such a letter would be received by the adcom? Is this a legit move?

I don't think it would hurt, but honestly, I don't think it would help either. Letters of recommendation (which is effectively what this is) from friends/family are generally not accepted. Also, I wouldn't just snail mail it to NYU - they probably wouldn't like that. Use the applicant portal for something like this.

Thanks. 50% acceptance rate is high for NYU. Any difference between IS and OS?

IS is marginally better but no real difference.

IS: 1449 applied, 198 interviewed, 107 accepted, 54 enrolled
OOS: 6902 applied, 770 interviewed, 381 accepted. 104 enrolled
