Last year they offered interviewees to stay overnight at Geneva Towers with your own room for $50. You can contact them to see if they still have that offer going this year.
 
Am I the only one to apply with just the committee letter? I have several recs all in there, but it is one compact committee letter. Nothing outside. Does that make my application weaker?
 
No I only had the single committee packet and recieved an II. That shouldnt be an issue

Just interviewed here today. Wasn't sure what to expect considering this was my very first interview, but it turned out to be a great experience. MMI's were not nearly as stressful as I thought they might be, very laid back, and pretty straight forward. Really like this school. Now just waiting for October 15th. :xf:
 
would it be a bad idea to send an in the area email if put on hold in case they rereview our file earlier?
 
How long do they normally take to send out secondaries after amcas has be verified? I have been verified for almost a week but still haven't heard anything from them. My stats are 3.67cGPA, 35MCAT. I don't think I would be screened out even if they pre-screen. TIA!
 
How did you guys fill out this phone number in the secondary? Is it okay if I can just put my cell number as 777-777-7777 instead?

I had my invite the secondary the next day (end of July) with a 3.5-3.6 and 35-37. I think you should check you should check all spam emails or call to figure out whats up. If you have a search function on your email, here is the start of the email you can copy/past to search:

I had the "Congratulations on the II" status for a week on the portal but never received an email... And now it's gone. Still no email. Did I actually get an II? 🙁

I'm kinda in the same position...my letters were submitted a week ago but everything else was in a month ago. I am stilled marked incomplete and was wondering if I should reach out and just remind them

Definitely call! They forgot to press a button in my case and it was fixed within the next couple of days. The person who answered my call was very helpful and understanding.

Unfortunately that means I wasn't complete until last week, which is really annoying.

(Pretty fast!)

Soonest available date I saw was December 11.

Not yet complete at this school, they have to still process my LORs even though I sent everything else in.

They've processed my LORs but not transcript - do I have to have my school send it directly to SUNY or should I wait till they receive it from AMCAS?

Edit: Nevermind! Problem solved - thanks anyway 🙂
 
Does anyone know if they let you take down notes during the 2mins preparation for the MMI?

They never said that you could or you couldn't. No one in my group took notes. I didn't feel like you needed to.

Don't worry. Their MMI was one of the friendliest interview experiences I've had. The interviewers were all cool.

During my interview they said to leave absolutely everything but water in the conference room, so that probably means no notes allowed

My group was only allowed to bring a water bottle and index card with room number orders, so I'd say no.
 
I am a CA resident, applying with 31 MCAT, 3.58 sci GPA and a 3.66 cumulative GPA. What are my chances realistically?

First year is going great...It was a little hectic because they had to make anatomy into a six week course along with all our other classes. Trying to learn all the muscles of the limbs and the head and neck in three weeks is kinda stressful. Thankfully we have some of the best anatomy teachers. We are in a transition year with regard to the curriculum. Next year should be a system based curriculum. There are rumors that the anatomy course will run all year and that they are transitioning to all prosections. Since we are in a transition year, Upstate has been giving us a lot of surveys about the courses.

Having been here for a few months now I can tell you that the biggest pros are the lax attitude of the student body (I have not met a gunner yet), the high quality teachers, and designing the curriculum so that there is a focus on board preparation. The biggest negative is the cramming of some of the curriculum.
 
Anyone been informed of a decision yet? My group was told we would be notified on the 15th, but nothing in my inbox thus far..

Last year first decisions came out at like 9:30 which is less than 10 minutes away. The year before, the 15th fell on a weekend so the first day people found out was 17th

Same...trying to study but literally refreshing both this page and my email every 3 minutes.

really? Checking last year's thread I saw the first acceptance at around 12:30 PM Eastern.
