Not trying to be the pessimist or derail this thread, but ziggy had only 6 posts and all of them are about acceptances at 4 different schools and all of his posts were today.

Is this for real, or someone trying to create anxiety amongst neurotic pre-meds anxiously waiting to get accepted?

lol. It is for real. I am "OOS", but I am gaining Texas residency. Consequently, I was grouped with the OOS cohort who received decisions on October 15th. I heard from one school in September (I called), two on the 15th (one emailed and one called me), and one last Friday (snail mail). I suppose I should not have posted these. I was a little over excited. This is my second application cycle..

When you say "officially marked complete", were you referring to your BAMF status saying "Under review"?

Also, is your interview for November or December?

BAMF marked me as "pending" 9/3 with everything listed as "true" - then I went under review 9/22.

Interview is 12/5 :luck:

CS. Flying from out of state into Houston where my parents live. Will be nice to get to turn it into a visit home!

So with people getting December interview positions already, it is getting pretty close to the end right? As in, if I haven't heard back from them by now or within the next week it's pretty likely I'm not going to hear from them at all? Any particular traits (GPA, MCAT, ECs, research, etc.) A&M looks for when selecting interviewees?
 
Hey guys... Kind of a weird question. I've been complete since July, in state. I've gotten IIs at multiple other places including Baylor but absolute silence from A&M. Can someone help me with why?? A&M is much closer to where I live and I really wanted to get a chance... Temple is like ideally located for me. Any insight? Or just random?

Just random most likely. This process can be very opaque at times. I didn't get an interview at 2 schools I thought I had a good shot at but did get one from one of my reaches.

Haha I'm in the same boat. I have a friend last year who got in early admission to every Texas school but never got an interview at A&M. He had a 3.98 GPA and a 33 MCAT.

No one, not even the admissions staff can say when it's over yet.. there were A LOT of applicants who applied at or near the deadline this year so there's a big push right now to interview as many applicants as they can.
 
URGENT!

Would anyone with an interview date scheduled for 11/7 or 11/8 be willing to switch with me (12/05)? I sent the office of admissions an email asking for an interview on 11/7 or 11/8 because I would be in the area for another interview but they gave me 12/05 a few days later. I don't have the financial means to travel to Texas again and this will be my last interview opportunity. If anyone is willing PLEASE message me.

Mine says "Interviewed"

Really hoping that very soon it will say something like: "You're fondest dream has just come true. Welcome to THE Promised Land. When you finish jumping around like a crazy person and turning cartwheels in your front yard, please don't forget to fill out your matriculation paperwork."

...absent that, "Accepted", will do just fine. ...but I reserve the right to jump around and do cartwheels anyway.

Do they email/mail you if you are rejected or put on hold? I've been complete since September and haven't heard anything as of yet.
 
Generally you just won't hear anything during the interview season and you know you've been rejected. I think after interview season some (all?) will send you a rejection letter. I'm waiting on mine from UTSW :penguin:
 
I see, I guess this is a silent rejection lol. Do you know if they are still interviewing though?

Unfortunately I don't know. Most schools seem to interview at least into December, some into January. The best bet would be to go to page 4-5+ and find last years A&M thread and find how late others got interviews.

Edit: I looked at last years thread. I saw some people getting ii's in late November, someone who sent a letter of interest at the end of Nov and got an ii from it, and a few with ii's in December for interviews in Dec and Jan.

On the bamf site status page I think it says that they will release all applications in mid-December or something like that. I assume that means you'll either get an interview invite or get rejected by that point. I'm on my phone and can't log in to see the actual date, but I think the release date is December 15th.
 
Last year they interviewed up until the second week in Jan.. They don't know exactly when this year yet because: 1) They got a lot of late applications and 2) people cancel or reject interviews so there's like a rolling interview invite thing too trying to fit more people in.. so in this case some people don't get a lot of notice if a slot becomes available. In other words, it's not quite over yet...
 
I hope that mine goes from "Under Review" to "Come on over buddy!"
 
Any current students have insight into scholarships at A&M? Lots? Few? Awarded at admission or later? Thanks!
 
Does anyone know what how A&M decides which students to give pre-match offers to? Is it to the best applicants or to the ones they think will be most likely to accept?
 
I got an acceptance email at 12:03. It just said "formal documentation is coming later today" and included a link to a youtube video saying congrats on your acceptance.

The BAMF page still says "interviewed" that has not changed

Thank you! Email went out at 12:05 am this morning. There were so many incredibly bright, wonderful people there, so I don't know if I deserve it or not, but I'm going to take it and run like the wind!
 
Has anyone gotten the follow up email? The video said "an email will be coming in a couple of hours" from admissions, but I haven't seen anything from them since the initial email at midnight.
 
This is probably just neuroticism but I think it's strange I haven't gotten it yet... trying to be patient...

Edit: Yeah I was being dumb. Just received it. Good luck to everybody.
