random question: what does accepting the "offer" on the portal webpage mean? this is the same as sending in your form and $100 deposit saying to hold a spot, right?

Nope, you still have to send in the form along with the $100 deposit. Just be sure to accept the offer in the portal so that they know to expect your form/deposit in the mail. Once they receive your deposit, you should get an email confirmation from Linda Berardi-Demo, the Associate Dean for Admissions and Student Affairs. Hope that helps! 🙂

Sorry, I wasn't very specific in my post. I accepted the offer on the portal, but I'm still waiting to hear from some other schools.

Accepting the offer on the portal is just merely holding an acceptance? i.e., although I loved TCMC, if I get into a school that is a higher choice, I can go elsewhere? Sorry if this is a stupid question, I'm new to this process! haha

No problem! 😉 Without mailing in the form/deposit, your seat will not be reserved. So, it is in your best interest to mail in the form along with the $100 deposit (refundable up until May 15, 2014). You can always withdraw from TCMC if you gain an acceptance to another school. However, as per AMCAS regulations, you can only hold a single acceptance after May 15, 2014.

Does anyone know/think that there will be more acceptances before the end of this week which is I am assuming the last week before the office closes for holidays?

can anyone tell me where i would send update letters for TCMC?

+1 Congrats to everyone who was recently accepted to TCMC! 😍 Is anyone else on here definitely set on attending TCMC next year?

Wondering the same thing. Maybe there are still a lot of accepted-yet-undecided folks if the lack of a TCMC Class of 2018 Facebook group is an indicator of anything haha.

Post secondary rejection here just now. Nicest rejection letter so far.

Question: Has anybody sent an email to TCMC about how to improve your application after rejection? If so who did you email? I am fairly certain that my MCAT score was the biggest problem, but will admissions give insight to say if LORs or grades were lacking? Thanks!

Does anyone know how long to hear back from TCMC post interview? I cannot seem to remember the timeline they gave us for the life of me. Thanks 🙂

I think it was about a month or month and a half or so until they got back to me and said I was deferred. It took about three months before any final decision in my case.

Best of luck!

Thank you 🙂 Unfortunately, my interview was in december... which means at least two more weeks than normal. Oh the anxiety.

withdrew my acceptance today. best of luck to everyone else still waiting to hear back!!

I'm preparing for an upcoming interview here and would love to know if anybody has any helpful advice? I really love the school and want to make the best impression possible 🙂

How long does it take to receive your information packet in the mail?

Took me about a week.

Reading past threads, it may seem like the exit interview means something, but it doesn't have any bearing on whether you get admitted or not.

Also, the interview is very stress free (I know most are), but the questions I got from the faculty interviewer was just "Why TCMC?, Why Medicine? How can you help NEPA etc". Also, the interview day is very quick.

Good luck 🙂

I am OOS and was accepted here a few weeks back, so I guess I performed reasonably well on the interview. They really seemed to like that I appreciated the school's mission and how its goal is to address the primary care shortage especially in Northeast PA. They didn't ask me too many probing questions, mostly they just wanted to get to know me as a person and get a feel for if I was sincerely interested in working in that environment, specifically primary care.I had no ties to the area, and have been working and living in NYC of all places for years, but explaining why I was interested in working in smaller, underserved areas in general helped, at least I think it did.

Good luck!!!!

Hi everyone,
Is there anyone from TCMC MBS program that got accepted ??

Hi everyone,
Is there anyone from TCMC MBS program that got accepted ??
The current MBS class isn't given interviews until the Spring semester, which just started on Monday. I suspect a number of them will start getting interview invites soon and a fair number will be accepted before the end of the cycle. I graduated from MBS last yr and am currently a 1st yr. I would be happy to answer any questions about the MBS program or MBS matriculation rate into the MD program.

Out of curiosity, when is the first interview date scheduled this month? Are people interviewing this week?

What will the class-size be for this year? Will it be 100 students?

They told me 100 people. After interview chances of acceptance were around 30 - 40% according to what we were told, which is pretty low post-interview.

This is true. I also understand that chances can vary depending on if ur IS or OOS.

This isn't unusual- It took me a solid 8+ weeks from interview to acceptance.

Got accepted a couple weeks ago! Interviewed 9/30 and was deferred first committee meeting....

IS 31 / 3.15 s / 3.45 and non-traditional.. graduated 2 years ago and have been involved in research ever since. Good luck to those still waiting!

Hi everyone. Complete since October and, to use the SDN cliche, the silence is deafening. Bad news?
