did you get an email?
Thank you! I appreciate it 😀Congrats!
So my interviewer at UM gave me his personal email card and I sent a thank you email to him the day after the interview. However UM also did provide a mailing address that we can use to contact the interviewer. Was wondering if it would be a good idea to send my interviewer a hand-written note or some chocolates or something.
Some candy'Canes for the holiday season.what exactly are they sending in the acceptance package?
thank you!! 🙂I replied by email, Dr. Weisman confirmed with me that email was sufficient.
possibly!! still waiting to see what happens in the next few months, but i'm really excited about UM!So, does this mean that we're going to be classmates? 🙂
Thank you so much!Yes they do! Contact them: [email protected]
If it was me, I would do option 2So I interviewed Dec 2nd at UM. Decision will be made for me Jan 22nd. I'm waiting on a few grades to arrive.
I was wondering when would be an appropriate time to send an LOI.
1. Wait until I get my grades and send an loi BUT before a decision is made on my application?
2. Wait until a decision is made THEN send an LOI?
3. Send an LOI now before I get my grades and then send another update when I get my grades?
Appreciate everyone's help.
+1; I vote for option 2If it was me, I would do option 2
Thanks for the input. Isn't Miami's waitlist set in stone pretty much though as in there isn't too much movement once youve been waitlisted? If it was me, I would do option 2

Letter of interest or letter of intent?
If the latter, I would wait until you have been notified of acceptance/WL. If the former (interest) I would wait for your grades, then send the update.
I sent a letter of interest/update post-interview and pre-decision. I am not sure what weight it held in their decision, but I was accepted - and I like to tell myself the letter swayed their minds away from waitlist and towards acceptance.

Thanks for the input. Same question that I asked the previous poster. Isn't Miami's waitlist set in stone?
Letter of interest. I guess I can send that once I receive my grades and if I'm still waitlisted, I can send in a letter of intent. Appreciate the input. Out of curiosity, how did you feel you did coming out of your interview at UM?
II yesterday! Complete early August. OOS.
From the interview, I was under the impression that the first two years of the Miller curriculum was Pass/Fail. However, I recently heard from students that there are actual number rankings for everyone in the class. Can someone shed light on this and whether this creates a very competitive nature in the class?
Ah, that's nice! Thank you!Miller has a decent contract with Spring Hill Suites (Mariott) - $99/night for a King size suite, and it's only a 7 minute walk from your bed to the interview building. Phone # is 305-575-5300. They also have a free shuttle between airport and hotel, complimentary breakfast, which you should have since the breakfast at the interview is just mini-muffins, coffee, and juice.
Congratulations! 👍 Mind sharing your stats?II this morning. Complete mid-October.

When I interviewed back in September the interview at the regional campus ended around 2pm. I left early but really wish I would have stayed. I was flying out at 5pm from Miami and was afraid I would hit traffic and I had to return a rental, but I was at the terminal two hours early...To those who interviewed MD/MPH, when did the day end at the regional campus? The schedule online is fairly broad and I want to be sure I have time to get to the airport!

You deserve it! Does anybody know if UMMSM is receptive to updates? I have not been extended a II yet, and I have pretty important updates to give hoping that might change their minds.34/4.0/top public undergrad/research pub/500+ hours clinical experience with direct patient contact
And maybe importantly, I learned Spanish in undergrad.
I'm in the same boat- I have submitted updates to them via their admissions e-mail address and have always gotten a response that my update has been added to my life. I would try that if I was you! With that said leaving early obviously didnt change my decision to attend 🙂 I still felt I knew what I needed to make an informed decision.
I take it that you will matriculate there? Congratulations!! If you don't mind me asking, did you apply for both MD and MD/MPH, and do you know if one can theoretically (emphasis on theoretically) be accepted to both programs, or is it one or the other?
Yeah sunny hit it on the head. I applied to both, but I wanted the dual program the whole time so that is the one I am choosing.I take it that you will matriculate there? Congratulations!! A friend of mine submitted mid September with 34/4.0/IS/extra-curriculars etc.. and their status still hasn't changed from under review...
Anyone else in the same boat/Is this a bad sign for their app?
What is the best way for them to update their application or for them to find a way why their application is taking so long?
Thanks for your help!
