Is there a facebook group for accepted students?
Ms. Walk said that she would send out a Facebook group link once it has been created. I was told by a current MS2 at HUCM that the MS1 students create it for us. 🙂

Hi! For those accepted, is anyone else having trouble finding the Health Sciences-Medicine Financial Aid Application (HSFAA) on their BisonWeb account? I've been so busy working that I completely forgot about this and the deadline is coming up. Any help is appreciated! Thank you!

I had the same issue! Give the FA office a call and just let them know you haven't gotten the updated form, and they will email it to you

Received an ii here. All the date they have available don't work for me (other interviews/ no coverage at work). Has anyone had luck getting a date outside the 3 dates they give you?

congrats. did you receive the invite today? I think you should just call them so they can assist you better.

Thank you. Yeah got it this morning. I sent an email with the only day that I can swing it. They don't take calls today or tomorrow and I wanted to respond asap. Hopefully I get that date (in a week )!

They never confirmed the receipt of my secondary 🙁 , I emailed them but nothing !

ah, that's true ! hopefully, they will get back to you asap.

I actually never got a complete email. Just an email about a month after submitting my secondary that they need fall grades.

I'm hoping these Jan/Feb/March interviews are for seats on the waitlist

Waitlist??? Is the class already full???

Hi all! Does anyone know approximately how long it takes to hear about an interview invitation after submitting the secondary?? I received a 'secondary acknowledgment' email from the hucm admissions email address on December 18th and haven't heard anything since then. I've tried to call a few times during their open hours but haven't been able to get through. I am starting to freak out a little. Any advice? Would it be a good idea to send an update letter/ email? Please help! Thank you! 🙂

(PS: Congrats to everyone already accepted and good luck to those that are still waiting!)

do you know what where their interview days? I'm just wondering if there are more ii to come this week.

How receptive is howard to letters of interest? I received this email from them yesterday, and I thought a letter of interest might boost my application in some way.

The email read: Thank You for your interest in Howard University’s College of Medicine. Your application is currently under review and consideration. You are still considered in contention for a possible interview invite at this time. If anything changes regarding your status, you will be notified via the email you’ve provided AMCAS. Once again, the Admissions staff appreciates your interest in Howard’s medical school.

Has anyone gotten an email like this recently??

I was complete/submitted about beginning of Oct, so about 4 months for me (they needed fall grades). But it may not be nearly as long for others who got ii. I don't know if they are receptive to update letters but if they are I would send it only if you have anything substantial to update them with.

The email stated the interview days are Tuesdays and Weds. The email gave me three specific dates and I had to pick one. The dates were all in Feb (although 2 were late Feb like the last week).

I got an acknowledgment e-mail regarding the fall grades that I sent them. I have sent a letter of update as well but didn't receive a confirmation e-mail though.

What did you talk about in your update letter?

I have added extracurricular activities that were new this year and not included on my AMCAS application as well as clinical experience that I've been exposed which directly involves the care of the underserved populations.... Hope this helps. Again, I didn't get an acknowledgement about the letter of update. So, I'm just hoping that they added to my file for review purposes.

Hey @drmak89 , are you trying to make us have a heart attack ? come on!!!

Anyone go to their first Friday open house? Informative? Thinking of leaving from NYC 6am tomorrow to make it for their noon Q&A and tour. Let me know if you want to come along (I was thinking say $20 each way?)

Hi guys, I just recently found out about this thread so I'm new here. I applied to HUCM and haven't heard back yet, but I'm praying and hoping to hear some good news. Best of luck to everyone- I hope to see you guys next year in medical school, God willing!

:welcome:

I have been trying to reach the admissions office by calling their number: 1-202-806-6279. I must have tried 30 times in the past 2 weeks and no answer. I wouldn't be surprised if that number was discontinued.

Any help in contacting the admissions office if you do not live in Washington DC or the US? Thanks!
