Just got an email asking if I had continued interest.

Has everyone who has received this email gotten a phone call the next day? Or is it a mass email?

didn't get a phone call acceptance the next day, but got an email around 2 EST. just so you know what to look out for.

Just joined SDN specifically to address your situation. I received one of those "we anticipate a spot on the waitlist opening up" emails and responded affirmatively. This was on a Wednesday. I did not receive an email of acceptance until the following Monday. I just wanted to let you know, hopefully to help ease your mind! I'm sure an acceptance will come soon!

Well I got my financial aid award from Northwestern and it's pretty terrible. Potential 280k in debt + interest is scaring the **** out of me. What if I decide I want to go into primary care? Ahhh

Their MSAR average indebtedness is <150k, how?

This has been a major issue for me as well, I expected medical school to be expensive, but the average indebtedness on MSAR had skewed my expectation on financial aid. Fact of the matter is much of the aid is always loans. The average indebtedness is low because a good amount of students have parents/family pay for their fees.

Perhaps you can appeal and ask for a need based grant?

Omg I had the same reaction when I got mine haha, I was wondering why it was reported so low on MSAR too! But seriously not everyone has wealthy parents...

Any thoughts on asking for feedback from adcoms? I'd like to know what aspects of my application/interview were lacking so that I can make myself a more solid applicant. I'll probably be taking this application cycle off to do so...

I don't see the harm in asking. The worst they can say is no.

This is probably just paranoia on my part but has everyone else who is committed to Northwestern also received very few emails/correspondence from them? Since April 30th, I've only received a confirmation that they received my health docs and an email to apply to Destination Chicago...just a little surprised since I would have expected them to send out more emails reminding us to complete all the requirements. Again probably just paranoia on my part but just want to make sure I'm not doing anything wrong!

Financial aid materials were in around mid February and I got my award yesterday. Pleasantly surprised with the need based grant they gave me, though I will still have to take loans out the wazoo.

Would you mind sharing the Need based aid you received. My parents would NOT be able to contribute to my education.
