Got an acceptance today for the FMAT program!!!

Congrats! When did you interview and when did you find out acceptance if you don't mind me asking? I interviewed last week for FMAT and it went really well so hopefully I'll be joining you, fingers crossed!

Anybody with c or sGPA of 3.5, and MCAT of 31, TX IS and traditional, got an interview yet from any of the TX schools? I am concerned, as I have not, from any school yet, except one. Is it too late now to write myself off for the year with decent EC and those stats? Although not great, but I thought those were decent stats to get an II from a couple of schools at least. Would like to hear your opinions.

31 MCAT, 3.4cGPA 3.0 sGPA 4 IIs, it's just a waiting game! Don't lose hope

Heavily involved in ECs with several leadership positions. Complete late Sept. Hoping for more IIs soon. Fingers crossed for all of us!

I wonder how this works. Do you have to apply or do they just decide on their own, if you don't mind?

They just sent me the notification via email and I had to log onto the portal to accept. I'm not sure how they decide! I know it can't be strictly merit based because I definitely don't have the best numbers. I have lived in West Texas all my life, so maybe that played a deciding factor. Also, it says it's based on qualities presented in the interview!

I doubt that it's full.

FMAT 2016 (current MS2s) was the first class to fill some FMAT spots prior to beginning of classes. For both that class and the current MS1s, about 1/2 the spots were filled at admission and 1/2 the following spring. They like to leave some open for spring application.

Yep, definitely not full. We MS1s just got an email today about an information session for anyone still interested in joining the class of 2017. They keep spots available 🙂

Well that's probably the only thing on the list you don't have to do since most people haven't graduated yet. And I don't think there is a refund for the $100.

EDIT: it says transcripts are necessary to matriculate not to accept the offer

It also says the $100 isn't required to accept the offer, but necessary to matriculate...but according to an above poster it is. I paid it just in case but they really should be more explictly clear on what we need to do to make sure the offer stands.
