Have any Alaska residents received interview invitations yet? Specifically, for the WWAMI program.
Congrats! If this is true that's an extremely quick turnaround. I had a feeling the excom meeting was going to be relatively soon. Hopefully we'll all hear something next week!Accepted!!!!! Can't believe it! Interviewed in Spokane Nov. 12. Re-applicant IR cgpa 3.7 sgpa 3.5 mcat 34. My Excom member called me today at 4:00. He said I would get an email late next week. Guess that's when the excom meeting is? I don't really get how those work. Overall, I think I am proof that they put huge emphasis on the interview.
that's why I'm skeptical as well. It could just be their individual EXCOM's preference to give an informal call. I would guess that since no formal acceptances have been delivered yet we shouldn't have anything to worry about.Congratulations that is so great! How do you mean you are proof that they put a large emphasis on interviewing? I'm nervous now, wondering if I should've heard back already if I was accepted...
Sorry I didn't mean to make anyone worry. I agree that the mode of communication is based on the excom's preference. Also, I just meant that I don't think I had the best application or stats, so they must have liked my interview.that's why I'm skeptical as well. Your GPA and MCAT is definitely high enough and I would not consider this a subpar application at all.Accepted!!!!! Can't believe it! Interviewed in Spokane Nov. 12. The email that they sent us after the primary app was sent in is that secondary application materials are due December 1st. Since that is less than 2 weeks away, can I assume that they have stopped sending out secondaries?
My assumption is that the next EXCOM meeting will be next week if you look back at the past two years.Congratulations! Thats so awesome, such a quick turnaround!
Has anyone who interviewed in Seattle since the last rounds of decisions went out heard anyting?
I am at a WWAMI panel right now, albeit all the students are Idaho residents. They have all said they heard by phone as far as acceptance, rejection, or waitlist. Those who were accepted heard within a day or two, or they heard several months later. All have applied more than once (several applied three times). The average age is around 26. All the students took the MCAT three times or more. All of them have amazing personal stories.

I also received the email indicating they are granting a two-week extension to complete the secondary if one is inevitably given. Did someone who hasn't heard anything regarding his or her application not get this email?

+1I just received an e-mail from them saying that they have yet to review my preliminary application (verified end of August) and that they are granting a two week extension to complete the secondary if I receive one. I'm assuming this is the first year this has happened, and they must be having much higher volumes of applications than previous years? Can anyone shed some light on this, or has received the same e-mail?
Not really what I expected. I guess it just goes to show that UW really likes older applicants with more life experiences. Pretty cool that all of them stuck with it taking multiple MCATs and applying multiple times. Had to feel pretty amazing when they got in. I don't know how they did it, I am barely surviving one application cycle.I am at a WWAMI panel right now (which is just a Q&A with first year UW students at WSU) , all the students are Idaho residents.

I am an OOS applicant/OOR as well. I wonder if getting this message is a good sign or a bad sign. The school confirmed they received my primary on September 30. When did you get the confirmation email chepchep? I'm thinking maybe differences in when we submitted our primaries maybe why you didn't receive it yet.

You never know @chepchep. Don't sell your short, and stay positive. There is still plenty of time.
My life would be so much simpler if you would just accept me already UW. I mean come on, I know you like me. Everyone saw the way you were looking at me at my interview. And I like you too, so lets get the flirting stage over with and move on to a deep and meaningful long term relationship.

Congratulations. I am happy for you! Looking at your MDapps page I completely agree with the admission committees decision... you made it easy for them 🙂
Holy. Cow. Acceptance call today 😱
Fastest turnaround ever (3 days?!) and so so so unbelievable. happy tears

Is there a way to check the status of your application online?
When did you interview? I interviewed on Friday and I'm anxious because I don't think it went well :/
You should go to the UWSOM website and search "Financial Aid Budget." They have the budget for each year posted.I haven't even interviewed yet - but question for current UWSOM med students (WWAMI locations preferable):
How much are you taking in loans per year?
I currently have a $400+ rent and live pretty reasonably (within $1000 per month for everything and dinners/drinks out - Boise is cheap!). Assuming I budget the exact same way, what could you predict per year in loans? I don't expect to receive any money from parents.
Trying to get an idea of what kinda loans UW requires...200K for all other OOS
