Submitted, paid through paypal interface, but still showing as payment pending.
Are others like that as well?
Edit: I called the admissions office, and it is a known bug right now. She asked me to forward my paypal receipt to [email protected] and said it will be corrected.
I recently logged onto my portal to see if my application is marked as complete, and it still says that I haven't paid. I would guess this means they aren't completely done resolving the issues.Does anyone know if the payment issue has been resolved? I have not received a follow-up email indicating that it is.

Interesting. I have yet to receive a follow-up email, and my application fee is still listed as not paid.I got a follow up email not too long ago that said it was resolved.

Hello (name),
Earlier today you were notified that Creighton University was experiencing a technical issue with its Secondary Application payment gateway. The technical issue has been resolved. Applicants are now free to submit their application payments and Secondary Applications. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
As mentioned earlier, if you previously submitted your application payment, the system may have notified you that your payment did not process correctly. The message was in error. If you received a PayPal receipt, your payment was submitted correctly. Please do not attempt to make an additional payment.
The Office of Medical Admissions appreciates your patience with our process. If you have any questions please contact the office directly at 800-325-4405 [email protected]. We look forward to reviewing your application and working with you throughout the 2016 application cycle.
Sincerely,
Garland Jarmon
Director of Admissions
Creighton University School of Medicine
When did you receive this email? I still haven't received it.
I'm assuming I probably cannot substitute histology for the "physiology" requirement or calculus for the "statistics" requirement. Going to ask the admissions office, just in case. Bummed I can't apply here.
When I talked to them, they said that I would need either a stats class or a class on another subject that taught stats. They never mentioned that calc could satisfy it, and the requirements page on their website never mentions calc being able to satisfy it. I think you may want to contact them to get a definitive answer. Even if they accepted calc in previous years, their website makes a specific mention of the mathematics requirements for fall 2016 matriculants, and calc is not mentioned.Probably not the histology for phys but as I was aware that you can substitute calc for stats or vice versa. Unless I'm mistaken and if that's the case then I'm in trouble.....
This means: "Are you capable of completing the CUSOM curriculum, understanding that reasonable accommodation can be made if you need it?" They say "with or without" to specify that they have it and will provide it if you need it, but you should not answer "no" to this question because you don't need any special accommodation. Are you capable of completing the CUSOM curriculum WITH OR WITHOUT reasonable accommodation?
What does this question even mean?
If I say Yes, does that mean, Yes I need accommodation? Yes I can with or without reasonable accommodation? How is this a yes or no question?
Confused; can someone clarify?
Oh I see, thanks! This means: "Are you capable of completing the CUSOM curriculum, understanding that reasonable accommodation can be made if you need it?" You're welcome! Good luck in your applications!Oh I see, thanks!
Successful applications can vary significantly. I did not have a pre-med advisor to help me out with my application, but from two application cycles this is what I have gathered from my experiences as a soon to be M1 at Creighton this August.for the third question, are you guys going to expand on the activities and try to highlight what you gained or characteristics that you can highlight about yourself, or are you simply going to briefly list the activities
Does anybody else who submitted their payment when there was a glitch in the system still see a message on their portal that says that they haven't paid yet?
I was told that the way to handle questions about courses is to get the course description and the syllabus and email them to the admissions office, asking if it counts.Do you guys think a class called "Cell Biology and Physiology" would fit their physio requirement, even if it wasn't solely dedicated to physio? We covered all major organ systems in depth.

Yep. Feel the exact same. Not sure if I really want to apply anymore to be honest. Not sure if I'd enjoy being in the Midwest as someone from southern California (no offense).Anyone else having a hard time writing these secondary essays? I don't feel the prompts are especially hard, I just feel burned out from writing so many![]()

I am very familiar with the Omaha area if anybody has any questions.Until a more qualified Omaha resident is available to answer this, here are my 2 cents:
I currently live in socal, and just visited Omaha (on an unrelated trip). It's a very nice place, although as someone used to the simplicity of the California road system man is Omaha confusing to drive in... It is hot there but everything seems to be nicely air-conditioned, and it's that humid kind of heat, not the burning heat you can get in CA. Overall, as someone who knew absolutely nothing about the midwest, I really enjoyed my visit to Omaha and it far exceeded my expectations (also no offense meant to anyone from the Midwest). Also, with $2 beers downtown, whats not to love?!?
I averaged around 1,800. However, Creighton is one of my top choices, so take that with a grain of salt.About how many characters are you all averaging for your secondaries?

Submitted my app just now! I'm not sure if I did a great job answering the second essay, so here's hoping they like my answers!
Im sure you're gucci!! Good luck!!!👍
Don't add meaningless lines just to have more words/characters. It's usually pretty obvious when someone was trying to fill more space and inserted some extra sentences. This looks bad. Don't do it.Hmmm.. Im hovering around 1200-1400 at present 😀 maybe ill just add a few more lines then..
PREEEEEEEEEEEACH nwts! Hallelujah!Don't add meaningless lines just to have more words/characters. It's usually pretty obvious when someone was trying to fill more space and inserted some extra sentences. This looks bad. Don't do it.
You shouldn't feel bad about how much you have written. A character limit is not an instruction of exactly how much to write. Rather, it's a guideline. If they say 2,000 characters and you give them 500, you have been more brief than what they were hoping for. If they say 2,000 and you write 1,500, you have done what was asked of you. Generally, you're fine as long as it isn't substantially less than half the character limit.
Even for the last question, asking about our current activities for the year? I'm doing two new things, and still can't seem to get the character count above 1,000Don't add meaningless lines just to have more words/characters. No, the guideline about using at least half of the character count only applies to required questions that are about your opinions, outlooks, etc. Questions asking you to list things, give brief descriptions of things, or talk about your current activities should be answered with only as many characters/words as necessary to answer the question. Absolutely DO NOT ramble about essentially nothing just to fill space on one of these questions.Even for the last question, asking about our current activities for the year? I'm doing two new things, and still can't seem to get the character count above 1,000
You're welcome. Best of luck on your applications!Haha thanks @nwts that's what I figured but when I saw your post I wanted to clarify
I wouldn't do that because the secondary specifically provides a link to Creighton University School of Medicine's mission statement. In my opinion, that makes it pretty clear that they are looking for an essay that relates to the School of Medicine mission statement. I would really do your best to write your response in a way that relates to the School of Medicine's mission statement.Hey guys, quick question RE Creighton's mission statement for the secondary. I'm having a bit of trouble finding something strong to write about from Creighton Med's mission statement, so is it OK write about points mentioned in the parent Creighton University mission statement? That mentions service to others, and I could actually write a strong secondary based on that, but I don't want to get weird looks in case Creighton Med considers their mission separately from Creighton University.
