Interviewed here this past Tuesday and don't really know how I feel about GWU. I definitely didn't leave my interview excited about the possibility of coming here.

Can anyone else comment on their interview day, especially what students said about their time there? I asked a few about curriculum changes and student-administration collaboration/feedback and got the feeling that there is some disconnect between each group.

As for the interviews, here is something I wrote in another thread:

The first interviewer interrupted me about 5 times. It was difficult to determine if he was just pressed for time or was uninterested in my answers - yet he ended the interview saying I was great and the interview went really well???

After that I had a student interview. I was very excited about speaking with a student - we were told it would likely be an MS4, and so a great opportunity to ask about rotations. Cut to my interviewer starting with "Hi! Im X, I'm an MS2" and proceeding to stressing out about the exam they had the next day 🙁 It was really hard to keep a straight face when that happened. And half of the questions they asked me were the same as my first interviewer, so that was fun.

Hope it does for you guys! I interviewed here about 7-8 weeks ago, still nada so I'm just hanging. Good luck!

I had the opportunity to spend substantial time with several of the students the day before my interview and asked how they felt about the new curriculum. They are MS2s, the 1st class with the new curriculum, and they liked the new curriculum. They said there had been a few bumps in the transition but they couldn't stress enough how helpful the administration had been with dealing with the issues and taking their feedback seriously. I was very impressed with everything I heard.

Same here! Submitted 7/23, saw that I was on hold 8/11. Sent two updates since submitting.

After having spent a few years in a city where the rent almost equals my paycheck (#adult), I'm worried about the living costs being at GW...I think it's even worse than where I currently live
 
Lurker here! Finally posting: Submitted my app in July, have been on hold for what seems like forever but I just checked my status and it has gone back to "Your file is under review"

oh man, my heart is pounding.....
 
wow I'm in good company. Also rejected yesterday. Complete early July.
 
Also rejected last night. I was on hold for a long time; complete early July. LizzyM ~71. Saying goodbye to this thread, good luck to everyone still in the running!

my ditto was on the rejected post 🙁. I did not survive doomsday
 
Does anyone know if GW offers feedback to ppl on the waitlist? Not sure if what is said on their website applies to those who have been rejected or not..
 
Doomsday was brutal. Sorry to all affected, hopefully other applications aren't as deadly. I am curious as to what happened yesterday. It seems many got the axe. How did they determine who to keep and who to eject? Did they review all the apps on hold again to determine this? Just wondering about the process and what does it mean if you haven't been "eliminated" yet? Is the inevitable just delayed since we never offered an II right off the bat.
Curious.

Oh gosh I'm sorry!!! 🙁 That's what I get for reading post that late at night, goodluck on the rest of your cycle. Your MCAT score is great! Shocked you haven't already been accepted somewhere yet

Mine has stayed "Hold for re-review" since...Maybe I'm just not even worth rejecting and a complete afterthought to them lollllll

Same, have been complete since 7/19. I was sure I was going to get cut yesterday, seeing as I still haven't heard back from GW for anything yet. I don't even know what to think anymore.

Sending these lovely folks a well written update by the end of the weekend...Will it have much/any effect? Probably not. But after surviving doomsday I figured it is worth a chance if they felt inclined to keep me around.
 
Thought hard about this, but I'm going to take the opposite approach and hold off on writing an update letter. My original plan was to send one at the end of my semester (if I make it that far) so I will stick to that..... :/

I'm more afraid of waking a sleeping giant so to speak.....and I'm trying to hold onto hope because I wasn't cut the other day....I also feel like I'm awaiting an inevitable rejection anyway....

In other words, I'm lost and confused per usual

I updated the day before the onslaught. Nothing too dramatic -- I don't even have semester grades complete -- but if I waited until mid December for grades it would possibly be 4 months between submission and any word from me or them... Now that I'm at the 3 month mark, I've decided to update some schools that seem open to it and will follow up with grades in mid December.

If some adcom wants to trash my app because I'm updating them twice (rather that once) in 4 months, they would have probably trashed it regardless.
 
I am interviewing here on Thursday, would anyone want to grab a bite to eat after the interviews? I have some spare time until my flight leaves later that evening!

I got an II as well! I submitted July 16th and was put on hold, I'm assuming, a couple weeks after.
NEVER give up hope! I'm now realizing that NO news can still be GOOD news 🙂

I had my application complete mid-july, and in August I noticed that I was on hold!! Once I saw i was on the hold list, I thought I was a goner for sure!! Ahhhh!

Ok now I feel horrible because I had to ask if I could reschedule. Has anyone done this, and are they receptive to it? How long did it take for them to respond? I hope this doesn't hurt me 🙁

They were really great about rescheduling for me. And I just rescheduled for a midterm. I don't think it hurts you at all. They were quick to get back to me too

I rescheduled due to midterms and they were really nice about it. I'm sure it happens all the time especially when there is travel involved!
 
Just noticed that I'm on hold for re-review here too after being complete the first week of September. Not sure what to think of this...

Still waiting from Sept 17 :/ maybe that's good though, we missed doomsday and haven't been waitlisted yet
 
Hadnt checked SDN or my portal for awhile, and checked today. Still on hold since early Sept. As a WWII buff I appreciate the D-Day analogy: I feel like I just survived the first wave onto Normandy and I'm making my way up Omaha Beach... That doesn't mean I won't get shot by a German sniper concealed in an underground bunker, but it means I'm advancing towards the rendezvous point to be reunited with my unit.

THANK YOU, ADCOM, FOR SPARING ME (potentially for the time being) AND GIVING ME A CHANCE (again, for the time being).

I was early October also. Based on last year's thread, we shouldn't hear until the very end of the month. That's earlier than 8-10 weeks but it sure feels like longer.

Thanks for replying! And thank @Voler as well! Funny enough, my question was answered just an hour later when they got back to me! They were indeed super nice about it and now I'm once again excited!!! 🙂
 
For those who have got IIs recently, when are they scheduling them? Out of curiosity
