2015-2016 George Washington University Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Hold for re-review, not really sure since when. I just checked my portal tonight, and that's the latest status on my application.

Got rejected after being on hold for about 1.5 months 🙁 Good luck to everyone!

I was on hold from early August to November. Didn't send an update or anything and got an ii for December. The interview is really chill. The school is awesome. Pricey, but definitely worth it, in my opinion. Good luck amigos! Hope to see u all in dc in August!

If you have survived all the rejections till now, are on hold, what are the odds of getting an interview ? Is there any hope or is the possibility remote?

If I'm flying into Dulles (IAD), any recommendations as to best modes of transportation into DC that won't cost me a fortune?

i am truly sorry if this has already been answered, but approximately how much time post interview does it take to hear back? 7-9 weeks?

When I interviewed they were saying about 8 weeks. From what others have posted who interviewed more recently, they're now saying 10-12 weeks. Last week those who interviewed in mid October heard back. I interviewed in late October and haven't heard back, so it certainly won't be any shorter than 8.

I imagine the Holidays will push them back even farther 🙁

Just checked portal today and my status changed from re-review to currently under review. Any idea how long the review period is?

For me, it was just 1 day. But I think it can be up to a week or so? It shouldn't be too long though

Just checked my status. On hold for re-review. Anyone have an estimate of how long it usually takes to review an applicant again?

Not really possible for us to know, it varies hugely. I was complete July 2nd and am still on hold for re-review.

Apologies if this has been asked before, but did you guys just send the updates to the admissions email?

Sorry if this has been answered already, but do they notify post-interview decisions via e-mail? And has anyone that interviewed on 10/30 heard back yet? Thanks!

Yep, it's over email. I also interviewed on 10/30 and am still waiting. Supposedly those who interviewed after we did were told decisions would take closer to 10-12 weeks (as opposed to ~8 weeks, which is what I was told on interview day).

Same, but I interviewed the day before! It looks like based on previous years threads we should hear back this week, but who knows! Someone in last year's thread mentioned acceptances typically come out on Tuesdays or Wednesdays. Not sure if that's credible information though

I interviewed on November 12, and they told us 8-10 weeks. But I'm thinking it will be closer to 10

I interviewed 10/23 and still haven't heard anything. I think it's been just about 10 weeks. I'm guessing a bunch of us will hear back in the next 2 weeks.

Waitlisted. Not surprised considering I thought my interview went really badly.

Anyone who interviewed 10/27 hear back? Does this mean rejection/waitlist?

Literally two posts above yours is a 10/27 acceptance. 😛

End of October interviewees just started hearing back, I imagine we'll be getting a flood of decisions this week.

Does anyone recommend sending a letter of interest?

Can any one go into detail as to what going into the different tracts for GW's med means in terms of day-to-day classes, overall education, etc??

Thank you!! Same to you!! I love DC...I do NOT love how expensive the city itself is...holy moly...I spent a small fortune just on food alone!
It's cheaper to live a little outside the city and commute in. We checked out Old Town Alexandria while we were there. Rent was cheaper and it is so damn charming!

do we know what interview date range they are giving out decisions for currently?
