2015-2016 Stanford University Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Is Stanford receptive to ITA emails? Also, do they interview between Christmas and New Year's or do they completely shut down until early January? I don't want to send an ITA email telling them I will be in San Francisco on the 28th and 29th of December if they aren't even open on those days!

anyone has a response to these? i'm going to be in california from the 22nd to the 31st i think and would love to not do a cross country flight!

Yup got the axe too. Complete end of July. LizzyM 75. With this and UCSF gone I guess NorCal is out of my future till residency at least. Sigh.

Joining the parade of rejects this morning. First one, doesn't feel great!

Late July-er here with a borderline LizzyM... Nervous. Any other July people still in the running?

Late July here too, with a low LizzyM but lots of research and work experience. Alternating between waiting for the inevitable axe and being unrealistically hopeful about my chances. Thank you to everyone reporting in today, and good luck to you all.

Same feelings over here, complete early August. It looks like a lot of the rejections are coming to people with acceptances and/or great stats, so I have confidence all of you will be happy at whatever awesome school you choose!

Rejected this morning pre-interview; Complete late July; LizzyM 77~80

Good luck to everyone else still in the running!

Complete late July with a LizzyM <65 and I haven't been axed...even checked my spam folder. Either my app was lost or my alma mater thinks it's more polite to "consider" me until March 😛
Typing this comment feels cursed *knock on wood knock on wood*

They also have a new dean of admissions this year so all bets are off!

seems like they're done with the high stat applicants and theyre moving to more avg stat applicants now. again this is just me thinking and it could be 100% wrong so no one take this as any sort of declaration that i know anything whatsoever at all

Super reach school! LizzyM~67, complete 10/24 though. Maybe they just haven't gotten to me so the can give me the axe 😉

Sadly, that appears to be what's going on here, buddy. They reviewed all the high stats apps first and then, given how painfully slow this process is, in a month, or two, or three, there will be another wave with the rest of us :-(

incredible to find out people with such wonderful stats are getting rejected, +1 here as well, I'd like to say goodbye to the dream but that's totally untrue b/c I will be a doctor somewhere someday

Well I wonder what some of these places are looking for; I mean many of these folks have super amazing ECs too.[/QUOTE]

Rejected today, complete mid August.

I heard that for a lot of medical schools they release secondaries, II's and acceptances more on Friday's. You guys think thats accurate? Seems quite sporadic to me to be honest

How am I still alive at this school? My former summer student really wants me to go here. LizzyM~66 Complete early September.

Two possibilities, they like your application and are holding on to it. Unfortunately, there also seems to be another trend. The admissions committee appears to be going through the higher stat applicants (70's) first, I'm assuming they will go through applicants with LizzyM's in the upper 60's next. But you never know, wish you luck!

Appeared to be a soft cut off at 73 for rejection this round.

Rejected pre-II as well (LizzyM ~77). Stanford, I'll always love you even if you don't love me back.

Anyone know if the admission office will let you know what they didn't like about your application if you give them a call?

Sorry to hear that. Was this yesterday or today?
