Are you sure they do interviews 2x a week? That's a lot of interviews...I vaguely remember when picking dates that I only picked 9/25 and the rest were in Oct and Fridays only with a few Mondays scattered in (I didn't pick any of the Monday ones).

Interviews are roughly twice a week with some exceptions, but they are split between MD-only applicants and MD/MPH applicants. So you will only be able to select from a portion of the dates depending on which program you're applying to.

Ya Sorry, Meant late September! When I chose a date these were the 5 available: 9/21, 9/25, 9/28, 10/2, 10/5

But I assumed there were a few available before that would just have been full

Oh wow. In that case, 20/140 seems like pretty sucky odds. Unless MD and MD/MPH are evaluated separately?

They are evaluated separately. People who apply to MD and MD/MPH are evaluated by both committees independently and may be accepted to either program or both.

does anyone know how they choose what apps to score? I assumed they did it in the order they were received, but this doesn't seem to be the case.

I don't think anyone knows. I'd assume it's a combination of completion date, combined GPA/MCAT, and any links to the school (UM undergrad, etc).

The admissions representative seemed to say that they would start making calls right after their admissions meeting on 10/14- are they allowed to do this before the official 10/15 release date? Or maybe I misunderstood them?

They did say that 🙂 but I don't thinks they're allowed to, so more likely on the 15th.

Save this question for Thursday (that is, if you even need to ask it then!). You're assuming the worst, but there is a reason they interviewed you!!

I'd imagine once they have your decision (regardless of what it is) they'll let you know either by phone or email.

Contact the admissions ofice305-243-3234 or[email protected] if you do not receive a telephone call, an e-mail or a letter within seven days." Hoping to receive that call on Thursday! Can't imagine myself anywhere else 🙂

They either really liked us or instantly rejected us...here's hoping for the former.

I interviewed October 2nd. Even though I'd like an answer today or tomorrow, I may not receive one. This is my current status:
"Your applications and interview report will be reviewed a final time by the Admissions Committee at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.

Decisions are usually made within 4-6 weeks of the interview. You will be notified by cell phone, e-mail and/or standard mail."

yeah that's a topic of discussion. not sure if anyone really knows.

So...because their hubspring thing says calls will go out approx 5pm EST on 10/14, I'm now ridiculously nervous in case calls are supposed to come out today.

That being said, I'm also pretty sure schools are supposed to wait until 10/15 before notifying us...

Now I'm a nervous wreck.

Honestly, the only reason why I was dreading 10/15 was because of Miami since I loved this school so much. UGH
