3 one on one, semi-open file interviews (as in they have your essays and activities, but nothing else). Each interview is only 20 minutes.

Thank you! I think I like the sound of that -less subjective than a single 1-on-1. How was your experience?

I really enjoyed the interview day here. You're right in that the format kept the objectiveness of a closed file interview, but also had the advantages of an open file interview in that the interviewers had seen your activities and had talking points ready to go. For me, it definitely seemed like a more personal interview as opposed to a hypothetical scenario/examination type interview. Not to say you won't get those types of questions, but that didn't seem like the dynamic they were going for. Just know your application and you'll be more than fine. Good luck!!!

did you like the school/medical center? also did you get a chance to see the new education center downtown / do they explain what the process is (like are we taking our first two years there and then heading to the wake-forest baptist in the final two years)?

Interviewed here in OCT. The first 2 years is going to be mostly in the new education ceter. They said it should be ready for us, class of 2020, but there will likely be some over lap and fully integrated by our M2 year. The distance between the new building and the hospital is just a few miles and traffic there is pretty light, even during peak times. They showed us the floor plans and what the new class rooms will look like...it looks amazing BTW.

I mean it's never fun, but at Wake your application is still being considered until you get that rejection! No news is good news! And I've been complete since mid August, so I get the feeling!

Thanks for the input. having only 1 interview so far, I am itching for some word and despite a few holds, its been quite quiet haha. oh well, just cross my fingers.

i disagree. they silent rejected me last year. i didn't hear back until march about my status.
Hmm. I wonder why they've sent out rejections to some, but string others along. Unless you were put into a "maybe" pile for an interview and they let all those people go at the end?

Still holding out hope to be pulled from the waitlist! I was just looking through last year's thread and it looks like IIs were sent out through February. Don't give up!

Anyone know around how many II's Wake gives out January - March?

You guys this is really mean. Stop.

From his history you can tell english isn't his first language... so for you to continue this bullying is ridiculous.
Im glad someone stood up for this person. This forum should be to express your thoughts/concerns/questions freely without judgement. Im sure if I tried to type something in spanish or something I would sound worse.

I thought it was hilarious until I searched the post history and realized what cyang mentioned. I spent a few years living abroad, and the main thing I learned while becoming fluent in a foreign language was that English would be a terrible language to try to learn. So many exceptions and nuances that are tough to master. Good luck @KesslerMD, I hope you accomplish your dream of becoming a physician.

I read his post history and I don't think english is his second language. But anyways, getting back to the point of this thread. I was wondering if anyone have received an II lately?

+1 to the 'he's def not ESL'. His 'bad' comments are not similar to people who are learning English and he has other comments that are understandable.

+1 to will I ever get an II? Complete e-mail Oct 28 🙁
I feel my complete date is way too late.

Unfortunately, Wake is too beautiful for me not to be interested.

Hey Guys! I didn't read through the whole thread but I was wondering how much of an impact an early decision app has? Does anyone have actual data on early decision app vs acceptance rate? Thanks and good luck to those waiting as well as CONGRATS to all of those accepted!!!!!!

Submitted an update letter, reply was that it would be added to my file but that there would be no guarantee it would be reviewed. A benign statement in all other contexts, but I find it extremely anxiety inducing--"does that mean I'm rejected already and they're trying to get me to read between the lines?? Or maybe that's standard reply? Oh god who knows." The neuroses I've developed in this whole process are fun.

Got the same response when I submitted an update letter so I think it's a standard reply.

Is their portal used for secondaries still active? I try to log in, and I get a blank white page with "]]>]]>Empl ID ]]>]]>Application Nbr ]]>]]>Last Name ]]>"

Did they respond right away or did it take a while? I sent an update two weeks ago and didn't get a response.

I get the same thing and was also wondering if other people can access the portal or not.

Yes, this is the standard reply.

Yeah, I got that same thing. If you exit out of the page, then click on the link again, it works the second time. At least that is what I have done.
