Are you talking about scheduling an interview or getting waitlisted post-interview? If it's getting wait listed after interviewing, I'd like to know too. Did you get an email or just snail mail?

Probably referring to post interview waitlist, thats what i was talking about. it was snail mail, a single piece of paper in normal size envelope stating the waitlist status

Ah ok thanks.

Do they explain anything further, like if there's a ranked waitlist, when we might hear back, etc?

If they do it like years past the majority of waitlisters will be accepted in May with a few trickling throughout the summer. I've heard of a few people getting taken off before May, but I think they wait to interview everyone first. I could be wrong. I'm not really familiar with how they rank the waitlisters thought.

Have there been any acceptances solely via snail mail or are we 100% convinced acceptances get an email first? And were there any acceptances not on the 15th?

Sorry, was taking about getting wait listed post-interview. I got a letter via snail mail. I guess we all just wait until summer huh?

To all who interviewed here already: where the heck is everything? I've been driving around Morgantown for the last hour looking for the medical school or admissions building but NONE of the buildings are labeled, or at least there are no signs. Did they send an itinerary email with addresses? I can't seem to find one in my email history.

They did send an itinerary at some point with pretty detailed instructions. Check your original email. You park in a parking garage near the hospital and walk over to the science/med building.

Go across the street from the only Applebee's in Morgantown. That parking lot is where you need to be (the parking garage on the right side of the lot). You'll take an elevator up to a bridge/ramp and cross it to get to the building you need to be at.

Just got my waitlist interview date today! Was originally scheduled for 1/18 and am now scheduled for 12/3!

Not sure if I should try putting myself on another waitlist date for November or just settle on this and schedule my flight now?

Edit: and to those on waitlists for an interview, on interview broker there are about 10 open dates between late January- early March

Did you get an email about getting wait list date? Or did you check portal?

The way the waitlist feature works is if it opens up it automatically schedules you for that date. So I just woke up to an email from interview broker that my interview date was rescheduled to 12/3.

Hope that helps!

Waitlisted via snail mail as well! Interviewed 10/1, OOS. The letter was so optimistic though- they got me keeping faith. I'M HOLDING ON, WVU, I'M HOLDING ON.

The best way to get to Morgantown is via Pittsburgh International and then the Mountain Lion Transit?

Ive been looking into flights and you can get to Morgantown, WV (from Boston) for about $300. But looking at Pittsburg flights it seems like their about $120. Im not sure how long of a distance it is from Pittsburg to Morgantown however though

But there are at least 3 or 4 people on each wait list date already so I was concerned of the chances that 4 people will cancel on one date. Whenever you got your waitlist date last year, were you the fourth or fifth person in line? i think the program goes in order of whoever signs up for the waiylist first

It was a different system 2 years ago and there wasn't any way to know if there were open slots or who was on the waitlist. But there were a few open slots the day I was there (fewer interviewees than max) and I know that 2 of the others who interviewed with me had also rescheduled.

It's about 1.5-2 hours from the airport to the university depending on the traffic. I would use the local airport because it's small, right in Morgantown, and your baggage claim and check will be a snap, as long as you don't mind smaller planes. But that's me. Most people use the Pittsburgh airport.

It's cheaper to fly into Pittsburgh, and it's about a 1.5-2 hours from there to Morgantown. I know that the Grey Line route on the Mountain Line Transit has two trips daily, but I can't figure out the departure and arrival times for both ways to book a flight.

Pitt is about 1 hour away

I am also trying to figure this out. With flights at 120$ and the bus at $30 I would be saving $150 if I flew into Pittsburg instead but I am not exactly sure how to navigate the Mountain Line Transit.

If anyone who has already interview and used this method of transportation and could help a girl out that would be awesome!

For those who have interviewed already.. what time was the day/interviews over?

The bus depot is at the parking garage everyone uses to park for interviews, so you won't have to navigate Morgantown if you stay at one of the 2 hotels across the street or ask your Medstay for a ride. I've never used the bus, so I won't be any further help with that.

Which stop is the one that is at the parking garage? I am given three options: Morgantown Westover Terminal, Morgantown Depot and Mountaineer Station.

Really depends. They schedule interviews from 1-4 I believe, and you are kind of given a slot at random. So you could be out at 1:30 or at 4 😀

It takes like 10 min to get to airport FYI, if that's where you are headed.

Yeah I believe MGW is about 10 minutes away but I am looking into Pittsburg Airport since its about half price.

Not sure if the times will work out with the Grey Line so I may just end up having to fly into MGW anyways!

Rejected post interview. Good luck to everyone.

why did you think you bombed your interview?

I probably should have prepared better. The interview focused solely on my application and, while I know my application pretty well, the questions tripped me up and I ended up rambling. None of my other interviews asked about my application directly and were much more conversational which is probably why I didn't expect it.

what's interview day like? atmosphere during interview? type of questions? thanks!

Got my letter for wait list. Interviewed 10/7. I want to stress that I've talked to some WVU students, and they assure me that almost all OOS students get wait listed before being accepted. You have to be absolutely incredible to be accepted off the bat OOS.

Keep your chins up, one student I spoke with had great stats, but was accepted from wait list in Spring.

Our theory was correct. Received snail mail today with weight list notification! Interviewed 10/2

So waitlist and rejection comes by mail, but acceptance gets email? I'm very nervous because I'm not home right now and my mail is sitting in the box, but I havent received an acceptance email either. 🙁

I believe that is how it works.
