Random question, but how are you accepted already? I thought first round of acceptances doesnt go out until this middle of October?

Just got an email saying I am being put on hold for re-review later in the cycle... has anyone else gotten this email? Complete mid-August.

Like an email right now? What does your portal say? and stats? IS?
 
Does anyone who interviewed here have any feedback about interview day? mines coming up and i'm a bit nervous😵 I'm so used to the MMI that traditional interviewing feels different now!

I can only provide feedback in regards to how my interview was last year (I suspect that they're still similar to this year's interviews). Both my interviewers last year were faculty (and they will actually be lecturing us M1s in future sessions); one was a physician and the other was not (mine was a basic science professor). It seemed like the objective for the interview with my physician interviewer was to determine why I wanted to practice medicine (and at OUWB specifically) and if I fit OUWB's mission (there is a youtube video in this forum somewhere that really references the type of applicant that OUWB seeks). My interview with the non-physician interviewer seems to try to figure out if I would fit the culture that OUWB is trying to establish (again, go watch that youtube video that I am referring to) and what type of person I am (ie: personality, motivations, dreams etc outside of medicine). Anyways, I hope this helped! I hope some of the folks that interviewed today can provide some input! And if you interviewed today, yes, I did see you as you walked through the med student library and I wish you the best of luck!

Edit: You may also wish to consider buying a medical school interview book. I read through a few last year during interview season and I would highly recommend "The Medical School Interview: Winning Strategies from Admissions Faculty" by Desai and Katta

They don't place a heavy emphasis on stats. They grant you an interview invite based on who you are, not based on your stats. As long as you are capable of doing well with the course load, they wont care about whether you had a 40 on your MCAT or a 28. That may seem unreal but hopefully, once you meet the professors and admissions staff, you'll realize that what I'm saying is true.

OOS, Lizzy M 65, Complete 8/1.
It's alright, still had interviews at Wayne and CMU. But man I hate those rejection emails.

Just got a rejection email. complete 7/4. didn't have amazing stats but still hurts. good luck everyone else.
 
i was complete 9/20, so they will probably never get to me...

You never know. Someone sent in their app 9/15 and got an II at the beginning of October. I was completed around the same time as you guys. Submitted before labor day but system error led to me being marked complete 2 weeks later :bigtears:

Yea the review process is definitely not linear. I was complete on 7/26 and I'm still in limbo. I'm sure there a some others hat were complete earlier than me and are still waiting. Just be happy you haven't gotten the axe.
