how receptive/encouraging are they with updates/letters of interest?

I personally have a hard time believing that an update letter/letter of interest (pre-ii) has swayed an adcom into inviting someone for an interview...ever...in history.

For those who submit them and then receive ii's shortly thereafter...those people would have likely received one anyway.

Just my two cents. But as the old saying goes: it can't hurt.

Rejected. Complete july 19. Good luck everyone else.

please hit me up if you are travelling for the dec 9 interview..trying to reduce the cost of uber from dtw to the school. thanks

I'm doing the same for January 6th! Btw did you want to practice for interviews together? 🙂

Is OWBU a public or private university? MSAR says Public, but Wikipedia says Private.

Oakland University if public, but OUWB the medical school is a private university. This means there is no instate quota

Really want an II from here -- I'll feel a bit more secure knowing that I have a chance at three solid in-state schools
The only nice is silence from here really means still in the running, since they are quick to reject when they know you don't fit the school.

Complete 7/26 and sent in an update. Hoping to hear from Oakland soon!

How quickly do you get rejected

Sent from my iPhone using SDN mobile
Oh, I don't know like exact timelines or anything but there are a lot of people complete in July-Sept who have definitely been rejected, so if you were complete during that time and you haven't, it can be read as a good thing. Maybe it's wishful thinking lol.

Still looking for an uber buddy for anyone arriving in Michigan tomorrow afternoon for the 11/17 interview! I checked out the rental prices from DTW and it seems like its $84 ish/ day so its a bit more expensive than using Uber.

Please let me know if you're interested =)

Hmm.. as a metro Detroit local, this sounds like a good business opportunity. SDN Driver Network (conveniently abbreviated SDNDN). My Plan B to medical school.
