Just to add, a Hold and/or silence definitely isn't a death sentence. Especially this early in the game. A lot of schools will do this to see how all the spaces fill out and whatnot (I'll never understand the black magic that goes into deciding how many acceptances to give out while people are deciding on different schools and stuff). I personally know of someone who was accepted off the waitlist 16 days before orientation started.

Congrats on the acceptances! Can't wait to see you all next fall.

wait, nevermind. I do have an aditional info tab. but it only asks me to confirm social security. it does not ask for anything else

The lady at the front desk said they were a couple of interviewees at days inn. IF any of you want to meet up and explore tomorrow send me a PM.
 
Anyone from the week of 9/19 hear back or have any additional info tabs?
 
so let me get this straight. Those that got the additional info tab are the ones that got accepted? did anyone that hasnt been accepted get that tab?

Penn State never explicitly said that an additional info tab = acceptance so you won't get a 100% answer. BUT it appears as if people who get the tab do get accepted based on the thread for previous year and this year. It's a pretty safe assumption in my opinion.

I don't think so. I didn't monitor the portal very consistently, but I did check a few weeks ago when everyone started asking about the hold status, and I never saw anything on mine indicating a hold.
 
So its weird for me cause I was accepted but my status still says "your interview is scheduled on:....etc" I am not sure if the status should say anything else. I do have the additional info tab however
 
Have any people from interview dates of 9/19 or later received any tabs or updates? This waiting is starting to get to me...

no!!!! also i didn't even realize there was a interview survey on the portal to complete until the other day . just mentioning it incase anyone else missed it. i don't think it was required but still i felt like an idiot

it's okay, i didnt realize there was a survey till about more than a month later lol

I don't think that it's too werid, It's also like that for me and I'm sure it's like that for other people. I think the big thing is the tab🙂
 
To anybody accepted: I sent back the paper saying I'm accepting the offer. I just want to be 100% clear that the deposit is NOT required within 2 weeks of receipt of acceptance correct? I did not attach a check or anything to my letter. Speaking of deposit, anybody know how we pay that?

Yep that's correct. I just got an email yesterday and they will confirm that they received your acknowledgement of acceptance and that the $100 deposit isn't due until April 30.
 
how receptive/welcoming is PSU to letters of intent/updates or does it not matter if youre on hold since I think I saw someone say that people on hold won't likely hear till Jan/Feb?

Haha sorry about that. We asked them to make sure the UP packet did not look like an acceptance packet to avoid that outcome, but I guess that isn't how it ended up. Just so everyone knows, anyone who showed interest in the Penn State UP program and has at least got an interview invite should have received (or should be receiving very shortly) a packet of information including a flash drive about our program. I do hope you get an acceptance letter soon (although that's unfortunately beyond my personal control)!

not receptive. They only judge you based on what you sent in in your secondary and AMCAS application initially

I included the deposit check for $100 with the notification paper saying that I acknowledge and accept the acceptance offer. In the memo, I just put Admission Deposit for (AMCAS ID#). I got an email saying that they received both my acknowledgement form and the deposit. The deposit does not become non-refundable until April 30, my email stated so.
