I was half tempted to do this with the gorgeous girl that interviewed me at Baylor.

Never would have done it, but I would have liked to.

Yeah that's a bit low on the professionalism and is probably a huge red flag.

II this afternoon! Finally got some love from my place of employment.

I'm interviewing Jan 25th which is the earliest date available to schedule.

Acceptee here. I'm a southerner, so that endeared the school to me right off the bat. The faculty were very friendly and approachable. I had great conversational interviews with my faculty and student interviewers. The faculty member especially did a great job of helping me feel like I could genuinely ask about anything I wanted to. Instead of the usual "ask these questions to look like a thoughtful applicant" type questions, I mostly asked the faculty member about things I was really genuinely curious about. What is your specialty and what do you research? Why did you pick academics? What kind of conditions do you treat in your practice? In addition, the director of the simulation lab randomly ran into me and another applicant as we were waiting for an uber and talked to us for like 15 minutes about UVA and how much he likes it. Students also seemed very happy and stopped by the admissions office to chat with us. Overall a very pleasant experience.

The school is amazing. I didn't know what to expect going in, but I was blown away by how beautiful Charlottesville is. UVA's campus is also maybe the most gorgeous college campus I've been on, as nice as even some Ivy league colleges. The school has a 1.5 year curriculum, which is a big plus for me personally because it's more time in the wards, research, etc. I come from a relatively small school, so for me being in a campus as large as UVA with so much athletics and students made me happy with all the events and people that are there. Med students seem very happy and relaxed - they had an exam the day after my interview but many were still hanging around admissions and talking to us for awhile!

The lunch is also the best of any interview I've been on, literally was like a gourmet meal. Even if you have interviews or acceptances at schools you like, especially at top schools, I think UVA is definitely worth a visit.

As far as I know they only interview monday through thursday and then make decisions for that week's interviewees each friday.

The chance is statistically lower in Feb than Sept, but they will still have open seats and could still offer admission. Between 6 and 8 people interview each day. Can't help you about the waitlist question.

I interviewed at UVA and I must say, wow. What an amazing school. It would be an honor and a privilege to attend this fine institution.
 
How many of you (accepted) students took a course in statistics? I know uva doesn't require courses but they recommend statistics. Would it look bad to not take a course in statistics?

I'd love to take the course but it would conflict with my schedule.

At this point it wont help you get accepted. Most docs really do not need to know any more stats than the couple lectures you'll get in med school. dont worry about it
