They say on their portal that your application status will not change during the interview season (through late February). So I guess if you do not get an interview you can expect a rejection any time after that.

I've only visited Atlanta, but I had a FANTASTIC time at the Aquarium and Coke museum if you're into that kind of thing. I went diving with the whale sharks there. Highly recommend.

Nah it seems like 20 of us got that email, and this is SDN, only a small slice of the total premed pie. I doubt we're all on a list to get II. It is meaningless.

Based on my experience at BU, where I received the financial aid email AFTER a II and it still meant nothing, I got REJECTED not even deferred, I'd say with almost complete certainty that this means nothing.

It should also be noted that this went to all applicants to any program at Emory (note that they give the CSS profile number for Emory in general and THEN For the medical program). I’m thinking this means nothing.

Going through last year's thread, it appears you are correct. Applicants received these financial aid emails multiple times in the new year, and a couple ended up with IIs but most did not.

Other things I found: last II reported on 2/16, last interview slot was 2/28, pre-II rejections started on 2/28

I also remember getting at least 12 emails from Vanderbilt asking me to apply and they rejected me pre-secondary...

I received the second email as well (the, “you haven’t added us to your FAFSA and filled out all these other ridiculous documents” email). I looked at my application communication status today and none of these emails were listed - I’m tempted to call and ask them if there is any advantage to adding Emory to the FAFSA (or disadvantage to not adding them). I believe getting the email means nothing in terms of whether we might get interviews, but it is also a bit disingenuous of them to send it to people who haven’t gotten interview invitations, yet.
