Hey guys, I have a question about interview day and was wondering if any of y'all could help me out. I originally booked the fight for 4:35PM after my interview day, but now I'm wondering if that gives me enough time to get from my interview to the airport since they end at 3:00PM. If anyone could let me know how your experience was that'd be great! I'm thinking of switching to a later flight.
I had a 5:00 PM flight scheduled after my interview. A couple things: 1) you may be able to e-mail them asking them for earlier interviews but that would depend on when your interview day is if they would have time to arrange that. I had a 2:30 interview for my second which was the latest they had 2) at the beginning of my interview day they had a notice up saying they would be offering a shuttle to the airport but that if you had a flight prior to 5PM you could not take the shuttle because you would not make it in time (in their original e-mail/info about interview day they said they would not offer a shuttle so I don't know if this was a one time thing or if they changed what they offer). Knowing this I booked an UBER which by the time they found me the shuttle that from the school had already left and therefore everyone with later flights than me got there before I did. 3) I was told by several people including former students not to worry about making my flight because they said there was rarely much wait at security. however, this was not my experience. The only reason I made my flight was because it got delayed. Another interviewee missed their flight entirely and had to switch to mine and have several lay overs anyways 4) I booked the earlier flight to save money and save a layover, however, looking back I would take a later flight if possible. I don't think it impacted my second interview but I will say that I definitely had my flight my mind which could have distracted me. You want to put your best foot forward so limiting distractions in any way you can is the best thing you can do for yourself. You don't want to be distracted by having to make any arrangements or hit a tight schedule with no room for error.
