Hey guys, I have a question about interview day and was wondering if any of y'all could help me out. I originally booked the fight for 4:35PM after my interview day, but now I'm wondering if that gives me enough time to get from my interview to the airport since they end at 3:00PM. If anyone could let me know how your experience was that'd be great! I'm thinking of switching to a later flight.

I had a 5:00 PM flight scheduled after my interview. A couple things: 1) you may be able to e-mail them asking them for earlier interviews but that would depend on when your interview day is if they would have time to arrange that. I had a 2:30 interview for my second which was the latest they had 2) at the beginning of my interview day they had a notice up saying they would be offering a shuttle to the airport but that if you had a flight prior to 5PM you could not take the shuttle because you would not make it in time (in their original e-mail/info about interview day they said they would not offer a shuttle so I don't know if this was a one time thing or if they changed what they offer). Knowing this I booked an UBER which by the time they found me the shuttle that from the school had already left and therefore everyone with later flights than me got there before I did. 3) I was told by several people including former students not to worry about making my flight because they said there was rarely much wait at security. however, this was not my experience. The only reason I made my flight was because it got delayed. Another interviewee missed their flight entirely and had to switch to mine and have several lay overs anyways 4) I booked the earlier flight to save money and save a layover, however, looking back I would take a later flight if possible. I don't think it impacted my second interview but I will say that I definitely had my flight my mind which could have distracted me. You want to put your best foot forward so limiting distractions in any way you can is the best thing you can do for yourself. You don't want to be distracted by having to make any arrangements or hit a tight schedule with no room for error.

Been watching this thread for the last 2 weeks. Had my II on Dec. 7th. If anyone has any questions feel free to ask. The interviews are VERY chill (almost too chill, do not stress if going in soon).

Called the admissions office today. Asked them just out of curiosity if they were going to send out another round of pre-matches, and they said that’s confidential information. Oh well, I tried!

This is actually a game they play. I heard from an alum if you call back and say "I demand to know when you will send me an acceptance letter" it shows interest and commitment.
Hilarious.

I knew it was probably a long shot, but last year I had a friend do the same thing and they told him outright. It doesn’t hurt to ask a question.

Might be a dumb question but should I send an updated transcript including fall semester grades to the school? If so, is this done through tmdsas?

yes, send to TMDSAS when grades are available and all your schools will get it.

They matriculate around 100 students. Any idea on how many get accepted?

How did you feel after your interviews? Did you feel like they went pretty good?

Yeah, I felt like I did exceptionally well. I did pretty bad at my interviews at UTMB, and I learned a lot from my mistakes there

I got a pre-match email this afternoon, interviewed 12/7. IS non-URM 3.5/3.7core/504.

PSA that I've needed someone to tell me for the past 6 years... for those of you who haven't gotten an acceptance yet, RELAX. I'm kind of a non-trad at this point who has been to hell and back during my journey. It's my first app cycle, but I can't even count how many people have straight up told me not to try because I'd never make it in. Please, everyone, keep your chin up and never give up on your dream. Find your passion, be yourself, trust in the process, and you'll find your way. From the girl who got a 23 on the MCAT now on her way to becoming a doctor, relax. Do what you love, not just stuff that looks good on your app. Take time to enjoy yourself. You'll miss college when it's over. I promise, you will all be fine ❤️

Congratulations! I’m happy to hear you’ve found your path in life!

Still can't believe we made it! :soexcited::highfive:

Does anyone know if PLFSOM accepts letters of intent? Thinking about writing one but I don’t want to if they won’t even read it.

The portal front page says "no letters of interest" - probably the same sentiment for letters of intent?

Anyone else receive a thank you letter from the school? Interviewed 12/14

A week and a half later. Still nothing. Got a rejection e-mail from sister med school Lubbock. :/

Can anyone comment on how much they spent on Uber rides when interviewing? Wondering how much I should budget.

I spent around 25$. My Uber/Lyft experience wasn’t too great as I had to wait a while for a driver since the services are not too popular in the city.

I spent the night at Hyatt Place and did not spend any money on transportation, besides tips, since they offer a free shuttle ride to any place within 3 miles of the hotel. It's a good option to look into if you can spend more on the hotel room.

For anyone wondering, I was told by Ms. Olivias that they accept well over 200 interviewees. Good luck to everyone!

How did you spring asking her that question? She just straight up answered, or you phrased it a certain way? My general impression was that they stayed very “hush hush” about their specific number of acceptances.

I was very specific to ask her about the number of OFFERS extended towards students and not the number of the matriculating class. She didn’t beat around the bush.
