Question about the acceptance numbers-

They mentioned that ~350 are accepted here each cycle, but they only accept 20 people each acceptance date. Additionally, there are only 10 acceptance dates, so only 200 would be accepted by March 21 (their last stated acceptance date). Does that mean that 150 people are accepted off the waitlist after all the official acceptance dates? Because that seems ridiculously high.

I feel like I'm missing something here so if anyone could help explain this process I'd appreciate it!

I emailed them with an ITA message and they replied the next day saying they would add it to my file but that is all they said. They seemed fairly nice about it, but I don't know if they do anything with it.
 
Was scored within the last week. Complete 9/13. Hoping for some good news :whistle:
 
so like if i still haven't been scored (complete since july or august), is it just a silent rejection?
 
It seems as if they're scoring a bunch of people right now and then sending II later.
 
Still not scored and I'm an undergrad here 🙁

They send the next steps and official acceptance via snail mail which you should get about a week after your phone acceptance. Basically just submit FAFSA and email them to reserve your spot in the class.

Yeah I got that, but nothing else? Some schools have already started asking for immunizations and all that other stuff so just wanted to make sure! Thanks so much for the response!
 
Hi! I just received an interview invite from this school, and they sent me a link to the status portal that I have been checking for months to choose my interview date. However, it does not show any date options. Does anyone know what to do about this? Trying to choose a date asap but can't figure out how to...

The green text (where it previously said application has been reviewed) should change into a dropdown menu where you can select your preferred dates, then the office will confirm with you through email a couple days later

oh all it says is “Your Application has been reviewed by the Admissions Committee at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Applicants will be invited to interview based upon their evaluation score from the Admissions Committee review. You will be contacted by email if you are selected for an interview. Interview invitations are extended between August and March.” with no drop down menu. its been like that for 2 hours. do you know how long it will take to become a dropdown menu?

Perhaps they did not update the portal before closing time today. I would call tomorrow morning if it does not change, they should be able to schedule you through phone too.
 
Did anyone who interviewed in late October see a portal update that says admissions decisions will be available on Oct. 16th?

Yeah I just checked and mine says that... who knows what it means lol... probably nothing. There’s a list of dates on the app (one of which is tomorrow) and they said at the interview that we might here back at any one of them, I think.

I also got this update, interviewed early November. They told my interview group that we would hear back on the 29th of this month, UNLESS our interviewer looked like they were 'OCD and look like they are going to write their review this weekend' in which case we would hear tomorrow, 11/15. My interviewer specifically told me they were going back to their office to write my review immediately after our interview so now I'm freaking out hoping that I hear back tomorrow. I LOVED this school.

I haven't seen anything about immunizations or similar documents yet for Miami!

Hoping to hear something tomorrow since I still have not heard anything from them since 10/25, even though I interviewed 10/6 lol.

Did they not even tell you that you were waitlisted? It definitely could be that they didn't review you by whenever their 10/25 cutoff was but that seems nuts. They told us that everyone gets waitlisted if they aren't accepted and at each date they take the top 20 scored applicants and accept them. They definitely said though that if you don't get the acceptance call that you would get a waitlist email the next day.

Yea I never got that waitlisted email. Nor have I received any rejected letter in the mail. I check my portal and it still says decision will be made October 16 (lol).

I interviewed 10/6 and I remember them saying we would either hear October 25 or November 15 depending on how quickly your interviewer's write up was finished. So if you haven't heard anything at all, your file just probably wasn't complete in time to be reviewed for the 10/25 date.
 
has anyone ever gotten an interview without having the status change to scored?
 
Guys I can’t stop looking at my phone. They said we could hear back as early as today and I’m freaking out. :scared:

If your status changed to 'a final decision has been reached' within the last couple days then you will more than likely hear back today

Update: it says my decision will be available on October 16th, but I didn’t interview until the 30th! I never had an earlier interview date or anything. This is interesting.

It doesn’t say that a decision has been reached so maybe I’m not getting the call today🙁

If you're deferred/waitlisted/whatever they call it, do you still get an email on the decision day? Or will it just be silence until a decision has been made?

Accepted = called day of, right after meeting ends (sometimes it runs late, otherwise usually around 5-5:30)
Alt listed = get the email the night of or the morning after to confirm your place on waitlist

It seems that rarely people are also accepted by email, but usually it is a phone call

They said they would call around 5 pm EST or you get a waitlist email tomorrow morning.. I also got the oct 16 update so I’m rooting for both of us!
 
Anyone get the call yet? I think my head is going to explode.
