I know the school isn’t obliged to give me an interview, but if I’m paying them $125 (primary and secondary fees) I’d at least appreciate being told that my file was reviewed but not ultimately chosen for interview. I don’t like silent rejections.
Same; for $125 they could at least say it was a "difficult decision" and "wish me luck in my future endeavors."

So not to beat a dead horse... but my interview email for the regional campus just says JFK medical center. Anyone know anything more specific?

I don't know if youll have a hard time finding it like I did but make sure to go to the specific address given, which is jfk drive not the jfk medical center (south congress ave), otherwise you'll have a long walk, unless you drive.

The second floor in suite 205 in that building off JFK drive right? I totally would have done the same thing.

Hi! I'll be there tomorrow too! Did you download their Hub app? It has a ton of info for how to get there and such, kinda shocked that they made this app tbh, it's great

Yes that. Second floor of 160 jfk drive! They didn't have signs when I was there. Would've been useful if med schools have signs for interview day.

Awesome! Lol yes that would be helpful! Glad you found it eventually. Thanks for the help!

Yea the hub app is great! I was only slightly confused for the regional campus as the map only says to go to the campus (if I’m operating it right). Very neat app though.

Good luck and see you tomorrow!

Yeah I got awkwardly dropped off by my Uber at the front of the hospital and walked for 10 minutes to the school building. It is a really nondescript door on the second floor that takes a minute to find.

Sooo... no one has the date for second look yet... right? Not just me lol

When I interviewed for the MD/PhD day on 1/26, they told us that the MD second look date is set to be Friday, April 13th. Not guaranteed though, since they could have changed it.

Anyone get the "final decision" status for Wednesday's announcement day?

Interviewed here last week and it's definitely an amazing school! Does anyone know if a physical letter is the only way to send thank you notes to our interviewers (as specified in The Hub)?
Other schools have let me email a pdf to the admissions office and they'd forward it to the interviewers, and I wondered if anyone did this for UM.

Yes, you can just email admissions.

Does anyone think more II will be sent out here? I feel like at this point chances are slim to none, but I'm desperate and really like the school lol

No one can definitively answer that question for you, obviously. The best you can do is lurk prior threads and see if other people posted that they got a II around this time. Even that isn't definitive though because there could be people who get a II but never post about it.

do they actually interview until april? Thats what it says online but I always thought from previous year threads it was end of march

On my interview day in early-middle February they said we could hear back March 7th, but that is not an official decision release date... have they strayed from their release dates? In other words, has anyone received an acceptance that wasn't a release date listed on the Hub??

I still don't have the "final decision status" but was told my group would hear back today

Did anyone who interviewed on 2/5 hear back yesterday? I did not receive a phone call or email and my portal still says pending final review.

Sent in 2 updates and had my PI send in an additional LOR. Is it worth even sending another update? It seems like I don't have what they are looking for.

I've also sent multiple updates about publications but it didn't help. It seems like they screen out certain applicants. Perhaps they are looking for applicants with ties to the area? With your MCAT and GPA, I'm really surprised.

What email are you guys using to send updates - the admissions one we got the secondary invite from?

It's probably a pointless effort at this point, but I do have new activities since I applied so maybe it's worth a shot.

They probably don't go back and change anything when we send in an update. I'm sure it would be too much work for them to go back and re-score each of us after every update. They probably read it once and laugh at how desperate we look.

On 2/23, I was told that there is a week to a week and a half to go before IIs will stop being sent out.

Wouldn't surprise me. I've sent updates in to my favorite schools, I think four updates in total, and have had zero luck with any of them. I think they think we just update every school we've applied to and that it means absolutely nothing.

:arghh:

I was really still holding out hope for this school. I'll just leave this here...

I sent in an update in December with multiple publications and posters and received an II in January. My interviewer also specifically mentioned the publications that were on my update, so I think they do reevaluate you after an update.

I have a very similar experience, time wise (early December update, late January II). My update did not include publications, but community work and a promotion.

Were there any acceptances this past acceptance day (2/28)? It was pretty silent this time around
I haven't seen any on here. Maybe they don't always strictly follow the acceptance dates on the calendar?
