I think it only means something if somebody submitted their FAFSA but doesn’t have it lol , why must they do things like this !

My portal says that and I haven't submitted FAFSA. Probably meaningless.... but knowing my luck it means I'll get the R next week.

I’m sure it means nothing because I can’t access some parts of the portal that still say “only available to admitted applicants”

Where are you guys seeing the financial aid line? Is that in status?
Yes, under Application Status.

Likewise! My theory is that if it says they're sending us the financial aid email, it means we weren't rejected? So we could either be accepted or waitlisted... just trying not to have false hope here LOL

lol this thread rn

It could just mean those with merit scholarships idk. I hope that not getting the status doesn't mean there's no acceptance 🤔 this wait is brutal

That's a possibility but I will say that Pitt said during my interview day they only give 10 merit scholarships, the amount of people with this coupled with my admittedly average MCAT leads me to believe this isn't a scholarship because I doubt I am meritorious when it comes to Pitt.

Also see the financial aid update. I remember them saying during our interview day that there isn’t merit aid.

): let me hold on to hope. I don't get why I don't have anything

I know it's stressful, but just remember, No one even knows what this means. I will be calling admissions tomorrow to gauge what I can if I don't see a change by 10-11. Keep the faith.

Given that not everyone is seeing this, I’m going to speculate it means good news for those who did. I don’t think financial aid is sent to waitlisted applicants. Also, I did not even open FAFSA.

Honestly you’re probably right. Hoping for high tier WL now

Lol no, I meant for those without the message

I'm sorry man, I recognized the profile pic from the thread and assumed it was from the people who got the message. You were the one who schooled me on acceptance numbers. I didn't mean to come off as insensitive.

Hmmm I feel like too high a number of people have this message for it to be acceptances...

On a different note- does anyone know what time of day they usually release decisions? Morning, early afternoon, evening??? Just trying to figure out an hourly stress schedule...

1. Considering they have to give out 148 acceptances it really isn't an absurd number here.

2. I created a convenient stress schedule you can refer to:
October-May: crippling anxiety and neuroticism.

Yeah it’s just my puppy cooking beats.

I want to say they release them in the early evening but you can always go back and check the previous threads.

Okay maybe not number but definitely seems like a high proportion- >80% of people posting (I didn't actually count so don't fact check me here) getting accepted seems high. Although SDN does usually have a pretty stacked sample size...

Update: June-May: extreme self doubt and crippling anxiety

Has anyone gotten the financial aid notification and have not even started their FAFSA?

I started mine and added Pitt but haven’t submitted mine yet. I received the notification...FYI.

Just tried to sign on to the portal, and the system prompts me to change my password. Upon changing my password, the portal says my AMCAS ID/username is not recognized. Anyone else experiencing this?

Yeah, I had to change my password (using Forgot Password) to fix it.

I had to change my password, but it logged me in after changing it. Try resetting your password and make sure your AMCAS ID is correct.

Did anybody who actually submitted FAFSA with Pitt listed get the status?

Random Q:

Did anyone have Dr. Rachel Givelber for their faculty interview? Nicest person I met on interviews.

what happened?

Some people (including myself) got an email saying they have been “highly ranked” which is definitely a good thing; but some people reported getting “very highly ranked” and it blew up into a game of speculation haha. Not quite as ambiguous as this financial aid thing, but pretty interesting. What likely happened was formatting/word choice differences depending on which faculty member sent the email.
