I've received a secondary and submitted yesterday (7/31), but did not receive a request for a mission statement. I submitted a preliminary app on 7/24, secondary was given on 7/26. TX URM MSTP applicant. LizzyM 78.Has any OOR MD applicant receive a secondary yet? Or is everyone still waiting after submitting the mission statement?
Hey guys, OOR applicant from California, and got my secondary invite today. Not URM and around 509 MCAT, 3.79 GPA, and 3.81 sGPA
There's still hope!

Submitted my mission statement July 9thWhen did you submit your mission statement? I'm still in limbo!
was told that my application is highly placed on the hold list :/
anyone else in the same position?
if there are any current students on the thread, is that "legit" or do they just tell everyone that they're "highly placed" on the hold list 😛
should i just lose hope now or remain optimistic? o-o
512/3.90. mstp applicant. i know my mcat is on the low side and it would kill me if that ends up being why i dont get an ii.
i have ~4000+ hrs of research, 7 pubs (including some 1st/2nd authors) though and i was really hoping that would be enough.
from az and ive been helping to run a clinic in a medically underserved border town on the Mexico side for 3-going on 4-years now.

Same. I'm remaining optimistic that it's a good thing. Is anybody else past the 'three weeks' it supposedly takes to hear back after the mission statement?
How long did it take for you to get your in state residency verified?Received secondary on 7/13, submitted 7/18, file complete the same day (In state, non-trad, etc).
Never had to do that, I believe that they can ask for that stuff but they don't alwaysHow long did it take for you to get your in state residency verified?
Sitting at 2 days until 4 weeks now -___-I was thinking the same thing since I submitted around the same time. It's been two weeks. I would give them three weeks like they said in the e-mail.
Do you know the exact day you submitted?Rejection email last night after submitting mission statement back in mid July; OOS, not URM, 526/3.95. First rejection of the cycle! Pretty painless considering the insane odds.
Rumor has it they take longer than the stated 3 weeks to respond to the mission statement request as they truly read the applications.
email says 4-6 weeks
That makes more sense. The e-mail I received on 07/13/2017 stated "This review can take up to 3 weeks."
My email also said 4-6 weeks when I submitted on 7/29.

Meant to say MD/MPH.Just submitted by secondary. MD only. In state.
what does edumacational disadvantage entail? Going to low-income public schools? Working in college?
You can also go to your existing post and press the edit button to make the change! 😉Meant to say MD/MPH.
Yeah I did that when I submitted it. I meant I applied MD not MSTP.You can also go to your existing post and press the edit button to make the change! 😉
Anything that may have affected you from pursuing a "typical" education [had to postpone college, had to take care of someone, illness, etc]. Here is a few examples:
- Financial stressors: working during high school, having to postpone college to work, supporting family members, etc
- illness: prevented from the typical 4 yr HS, 4 yr college
- immigrant status: virtually everything that could prevent you form pursuing an education
- Geographical: rural/underserved schools that lack STEMI exposure or proper education [that may be a stretch]
Basically, it's very broad and vague...
Hope that helped!
Do you feel like you had a reason you got the secondary so fast?In state very non trad applicant here. AMCAS application processed August 6th.
Secondary received August 7th. Keeping my fingers crossed. Finalizing my secondary essays and will be submitting by the end of the week.
Good luck all!
