The UW website says they do monthly EXCOM meetings starting in October.

Don't quote me on this one but I also vaguely remember reading somewhere that few interviewees are accepted or rejected right away and that the majority of interviewees remain "still under consideration" until March so the decision could come anytime this month.... or March from what I understand.

Have you already had your interview?

I had my interview in early october. I am asking because my friends who applied last year also interviewed in early october and heard back about their acceptances by the end of the month.

Yeah looking back at previous years it seems like people heard back by now. But there were some years that they didn't hear back until like November 3rd. just gotto wait a bit longer i guess.

Do they have a day of the week that they do acceptances? They noted that a decision could be expected within a month of the interview (that is today for me).

Last year, the first person accepted on SDN got their call on a Wednesday. They were accepted on October 26th, 2016. The year before, there was a glitch in the UW portal and someone found out they were accepted on October 26th, 2015, but UW hadn't started sending out emails yet. They sent out emails for people SUC on November 7th, 2015.

I interviewed at UW on October 10th, so I'm on edge right now and needed to do some research.

Only once a month then?

I got a SUC as well. Considering that multiple people here got the SUC email, does this mean that they have not actually had an official EXCOM meeting to make decisions yet? Does anyone know when the next EXCOM meeting will be?

For those who have interviewed, about how long does the role play last? Like at what point during the 30 minute interview do they start it? How many questions do you usually get from the panel before they move on to the role play? Also, how many questions about healthcare policy/current events did everyone get?

My roleplay lasted about 5 minutes I think. It was probably a little shorter, but seemed longer in the moment. It was at the very end of the interview and they probably asked like 10 or so questions before. Hard to say exactly how many questions, I’m sure it varies a lot depending on the flow of the interview. A lot of the questions for me were follow ups to an answer I had given to a previous question. Only got a couple questions about healthcare policy and they were quite broad.

Did anyone get accepted in this first wave or was it all SUCs?

Just got my first II! Beyond thrilled. Any advice on next steps? I am going to meet with my counselor and do a ton of research but not sure of what else to start.

Does anyone know where I can find state-by-state stats for the different states in the WWAMI region? On the UW website, there is a table that gives how many WWAMI students applied, how many were interviewed, and how many were accepted, but it does not break it down by state. If, for example, I wanted to know how many Wyoming or Alaska residents applied, how many of those who applied received interview invites, and how many were ultimately accepted, there does not seem to be any readily available source of information for this.

I got stats from my state by emailing the clinical dean/dean of regional affairs from my state.

So...WOW...II!!!! I've tried so hard to be patient, but this waiting is torture.
UWSOM is hands down my top choice!

I am IS and my app was complete 9/18. I am not a TRUST applicant.

Nice! Spokane or Seattle?

Question about interview day: how much walking was there in the day? I'm trying to gauge whether or not I can get away with wearing heels for the whole day.
Also, while other people are interviewing, do you just mingle with other applicants? Or is it more of a free time for you to wander?

One of my friends got the call about their acceptance this last Wednesday. I still have not got an admission decision yet. My friend and I did not have the same excom member which may have been the reason why...

How much walking depends on if you park there or want to look at upper campus later. Low end of it all I would say 2-3 miles of walking and a couple flights of stairs at a brisk pace depending on time. As a former tour guild I wouldn’t recommend heels for the whole day. Just bring a pair of flats and put them on for the walks. Save the heels for the interview.

There's quite a bit of walking during the tour. I doubt you'll want to wear heels all day. And if you're the last interview (like I was) you definitely have some free time to wander or go to a class. Everyone chose to just mingle in the waiting area, though.
