2018-2019 Drexel University

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Very anxious for this upcoming wave of acceptance offers/ rejections. A local businessman/philanthropist has agreed to pay my entire graduating class's tuition in full if we get accepted into a program, so there's a lot riding on this! Would hate to let him down...
Hey it's me ur fellow classmate. Pls

I just received an II today. Any tips for interview day?

It's pretty chill. Just be ready for the essay. It isn't hard but it wouldn't be fun to be caught off guard. Basically just have to show that you can think critically about some ethical situation.

Yeah, if you took the casper, which you did if you're interviewing, it's essentially one of those with 3x more time to answer.

Tons of time to explore on your own or structure however you want between the initial briefing and group interview.

Were you placed on hold before? If not, when were you complete?

Thanks to runthejools and themightyquinn for your tips! This is my first time applying so I was never placed on hold. I was complete in August.

Is anyone else interviewing this Thursday, 3/21 and would want to meet up Wednesday night? If so, PM me!

Does Drexel only allow one update post-II?
I sent my second update to their admissions email account and got an automated response stating: "If you have an additional update, the Office of Admissions will upload this into your AMP file", so I am fairly certain you are safe to send another update. Where is the harm in showing further interest/keeping them updated anyway?

Hello Drexel Thread! Would any current students at DUCOM be willing to answer some questions about Drexel? I was accepted and I am currently trying to figure out which medical school might be best for me to commit to (SOS)? Also-- if you think I should just reach out to someone through the accepted students FB Page, let me know!!

Accepted via email today at 1:43pm EST!

For future lurkers:
1st time applicant, LM >70, OOS
No pre-II hold or deferral status at any point
  • Complete: Aug 2019
  • Sent update via portal: Oct 2019
  • Interview invite: Dec 2019
  • Interview: late Jan 2019
Good luck to everyone else!!
Congrats on your acceptance!!! If I may ask, how late in January are we talking? I had my interview on the 31st, and I'm wondering if it's reasonable to expect news today.

Can anyone tell me about the grading system at Drexel? Pass/fail (and if so is it truly or ranked?). Also, does anyone know how often they honor rotation preferences for third and fourth year?

P/F with an internal ranking.

They do not honor rotation preferences third year since everyone wants “Philly area”. Fourth year I got all my stuff in places I wanted them.

Does anyone know how I could join the accepted students facebook page? I requested to join last week but I'm not sure if they are letting people in that way

Was just accepted this past Friday! Does anyone know if they have a specific date set for second look? Trying to buy tickets before travel gets more expensive.

3.50 minimum GPA in the program and no less than 126 in each section of the MCAT

Idk what program you're in but for IMS its at least a B in every course (the semester is 21 credits) and no subsection falling below 124 (I forgot if there was a cumulative score requirement, I think above 507?).
