Someone please give me hope on pre matching ☹️ Starting to get really discouraged. Interviewed 10/26 LM 69
 
What time have you guys gotten your pre-match email? Was it all this morning or have some of you gotten the email in the afternoon?

Match day will be after that date, so I went ahead and paid the $100, which, btw, is still an amazing price to hold a seat at a US MD school. Some of the DO schools want $3k+ to hold your seat and it is non-refundable.

Anyone know if there is a Facebook group for accepted students?

Most of the schools will wait to do a Facebook page after Match Day

Do you need to accept the offer and pay the deposit at the same time? I want to accept but could use a bit more time on the deposit...

My understanding is that you have until the 29th to pay the deposit and check everything off in the portal with the exception of the background check, which doesn't need to be completed until the spring.

I know they typically offer a dean's scholarship to some. From talking with friends, any scholarship info typically comes with the physical letter rather than with the email.
 
Anybody get a physical letter with any scholarship info yet?
 
Any current students able to answer where students normally stay? Currently looking for some good apartments/housing.

Sorry to hijack this, but in case a current student stops by to respond, could you also comment on the availability of study spaces, i.e., are there lots of good places to study on campus or are the study spaces generally overrun? This is one detail from my tour that I failed to note.
 
For other OOS people that have been accepted - is there a due date for when we're supposed to submit the scholarship acceptance form? I'm unsure because on the form it asks which campus you're going to, but obviously at this point we don't know so I'm not sure if we're supposed to fill this out later.
 
Did anyone receive the prematch offer for MD/PhD? Do they even send these out for MD/PhD?

Im super confused by this as well. This is from the TMDSAS site

"Applicants to the combined MD/PhD, DO/PhD, or MD/MBA programs who have not received an offer of acceptance to a combined program before January 10 may participate in the matching process for acceptance into an MD or DO only program at participating medical schools at which they interviewed."

From what I understood is that Dual degrees have until Jan 10th to find out if they made it into the combined program or not. If you accept the offer you CAN'T match, but if you dont get an offer you can?

Here are the threads that are the most active with info and advice about MD/PhD applicants. This is not my area of expertise currently.
You can see by comparing the Acceptance and Rejection threads that more have heard bad news than good news so far, but that a huge number are still waiting to hear decisions and/or are still interviewing.

From what I understood, we can get an offer from dual degree programs any time before the beginning of orientation. If we don't get an offer by 1/10, we can participate in the match for MD programs but at the same time we are still under consideration for the dual degree programs. If we are matched for an MD program, we may still get accepted into the dual degree program.

Hi! Current student here. Plenty of spaces to study on (and off) campus. Syn center, study rooms, & tons of spots in the library on campus. The main building is open with badge access 24/7 for students.

Awesome, thanks for the update. We just booked an Air BnB today for a few days in December to visit Lubbock and look around. Any particular highlights we should try to hit?
