For those of you who have had interviews, was there any status change between "Your M.D. file is now complete..." and receiving your II?

Yes. When I received my II, i got a portal status change and it showed the times i could choose my II

Okay thanks! So if we got 1 and 2, we would definitely get an acceptance tmrw? And if we got 3, we would continue on-hold until the waitlist is formed right? After that, we could either make the waitlist or be rejected in March. I hope I'm understanding this right 🙄

The way it was explained to me last year, a 1-3 means you've met the score threshold required for acceptance. A 1 likely means you were at the top of the batch so you're getting an acceptance at the next date. Apps are all rank ordered. Those that dont make it into the top ~50 or so will be WL or rejected

Thanks for explaining!! Do you know if rank scores can be changed based on relevant updates post-interview? Or if we don’t get in on one acceptance date would we be reconsidered again for the next one?

they told us that after you've been put on hold for acceptance an update won't change your score and will only be considered along w your score when determining if you're getting an offer. and if you're passed over tomorrow then you can still possibly get accepted march 1

I think it depends. There’s a deadline in march that’s touted as the last day to submit updates that’ll be counted towards your file. That may possibly move you. You’ll be considered at all the acceptance dates until the final one
 
@medschoolzombie do you know anything about the Casper score and how it will be used to rank applicants?

you seem to know a lot about VCU’s application process 😀

Ah that's upsetting. I sent in an update right after my II so it could be used in the evaluation process but unfortunately, it looks like it did not go through and I had to resend it again after checking with VCU. But I'd already been placed on hold so the update was not used in my score determination 🙁 oh well, here's to praying that it all works out!

Nothing concrete lol. Since it's their first year using it, it's likely that it's just for diagnostic purposes.

Haha only cause I bugged the crap out of admissions people last year lol

If I remember correctly, one of the AdComs I spoke to said that CASPer is basically going to be used as a comparison type of tool, like to see if CASPer score correlates with Step 1 scores, residency matching, etc.

Pretty sure they're done sending out II's to IS applicants unfortunately. It's very disappointing considering this is where I did my post-bacc and I had received very good feedback from one of the adcoms prior to applying.

I've been on hold, as well, since about September 5th. Just praying for good news for VCU --> they're my top school, and I've only been lucky enough to get one other interview and got deferred there. So I'm just trying my best to keep hope up, am wearing my VCU sweatshirt, and am wearing my lucky socks hoping that today could be my day.

I wanted to check once, but I don't believe I'll be joining y'all on the anxiety train today. Just gonna wait for 6PM

Didn't get my tabs until probably 6:15pm-ish on December 17th for whatever reason, and I didn't get the "There's been a change in your status" email update until the following day. It's hard to say when the actual tabs/email notification will come.

Literally same. By 6 pm I had given up and thought I had been passed over again, then around 6:30 the tabs appeared. I didn't get the official update & email until 6 pm the next day.
Don't lose hope you guys!
