Welp, first rejection of the cycle. Best of luck to all those who are still left in the running for this amazing school :'(

Secondary submitted today, was waiting on new MCAT score.

OOS, VERY close ties, MCAT 515, GPA 4.0

ok, so I was wondering. I am waitlisted for interview for WVU. Does anyone have an idea when/if those of us like me would get rejections at some point (before March)? Or this is pretty much a silent rejection? Or do you think that they might actually grant interviews from waitlist?

I think we should be hopeful and not take it as a silent rejection.

When did you submit secondary?

For anyone who got the pre-interview form from WVU...

For the first question: "During your undergraduate education, training, or employment were you ever on probation, restriction, suspension, or otherwise acted against by school or law enforcement officials?" - So would this mean even a parking ticket or speeding ticket, anything at all?

And for this one: "Have you ever been criminally or civilly charged with any action related to the use or misuse of drugs, alcohol, or illegal chemical substances?" - Do you think this would include like an open container violation?

I fully am explaining everything honestly, I just don't know which questions to click yes to lol

No and No they are looking for major character problems which they will see when they do your background check. For these questions they are pretty much no

just got my first rejection. anyone know if this school has a subsection MCAT cut off? curious if that was the reason

So a waitlist for interview is just a fancy way of saying "hold"? I shouldn't expect much right?

No, I have heard of people getting interview invitation after being on the waitlist. There is realistic hope

Oh ok, didn't apply to this school last cycle. I was places on hold by several schools last year, only to be rejected. Hope thats not the case here.

A cold, harsh rejection. OOS. According to the MSAR I would’ve thought that more OOS students would’ve been having more luck!

I’m curious if they sent the same generalized rejection letter to everyone. Trying to figure out if the reasons they mentioned in the email were personalized or generalized.

Did yours say this too: “below average academic record (science GPA, overall GPA, MCAT total score, MCAT sub-section score), below average mission-based activities and deficits in the secondary application.”

Yup! Of course it was generalized lol they literally included every possible reason for the rejection in their email. So vague.

Does West Virginia care how fast we submit the secondaries? I’ve been sitting on mine for 6 weeks and I’m wondering if it’s still worth it to send it at this point :/

Are we supposed to get a complete email? Or does the "submitted" in green on ApplyWeb confirm its done?

I felt too bad to post at first but now that I got some other II's I can say that I got a thicc rejection early on from this school. Sent in 7/2, confirmed 7/5. OOS with no ties, LizzyM 70.
