Can I get some help interpreting this data? Does this mean that CUSM students are projected to score below the national average?

Do you know what the process for withdrawing at this school is? The enrollment agreement states that we have to mail a notice, but I doubt that's possible now with COVID?
I emailed them and they replied confirming my withdrawal.

It's a weird graph and I honestly wish they would have designed it way differently because it's pretty confusing. Essentially what they were saying is that as 1st years, with only studying that block, they were able to score fairly close to the national average compared to the typical test takers which are second year students who have a dedicated study period before taking it. Tbh I wouldn't put much weight into this as it's not official and doesn't really contribute much to highlighting the strengths of the curriculum here. Should hopefully have actual STEP 1 data this year as the current M2s are taking their boards in the next month or so*.

*Assuming that STEP 1 isn't cancelled indefinitely due to COVID

It's bizarre that they have not given some of you guys decisions... They should have waitlisted you all months ago.

That's exactly what the waitlist is for, students you might want to accept, but aren't sure yet and will decide at a later date!

Hoping all of us can get some good news this week or next week.

I know earlier in this thread another guy was commenting on how they are currently only accepting 98 students, but will open it to the expected 120 once the new building is up and running, so maybe the ones who havent heard back are ones in those slots? But that is just conjecture....

That'd be awesome for you guys! But I just feel like it'd have saved a lot of heart ache and anxiety for y'all if they just said "waitlist," which is more or less the same thing except now you know where you stand.

My thoughts exactly, especially when they are starting to pull people off the WL already. This adcom is an enigma

Anyone know when we are going to get that email with info about the school year, fin aid, housing, etc? In February they said an email would go out a few months later.

If next semester starts online, is it still a good idea to move to the area? It seems likely either the semester will start online or another lock down will be initiated in the Fall.

Withdrew my acceptance last week! For those who also withdrew, how long did it take to get your deposit refund back?
I’ve been wondering the same since I emailed them last week asking about it but didn’t get a response back. I just called and the person asked that I email my AMCAs ID, mailing address and phone number to their admissions email.

Not really an answer for how long, but it seems they don’t have much of an organized way of sending out refunds (or someone designated to do them) so you may need to call.

The school hasn't told us one way or the other and really at this point it's a 50/50 on whether or not we start the first block online or in-person. I believe CA as a whole is trying to get classes start back up normal in August (for public schools that is). The start of the next year is 3 months away so that's a lot of time for stuff to happen. If I was in your shoes I would wait until like June to start looking for apartments as it's honestly not that hard here tbh. I visited the area and signed my lease to move-in the next weekend, so totally doable. Hopefully we will have a better picture of what is going to happen with regards to the school year by then

So, has the "Commit to Enroll" option appeared on anyone's CYMS tool yet? Mine's still on "Plan to Enroll"

I am waitlisted for CUSM at the moment, and I just wanted to make sure that before I hear back, there is no action I have to take at the moment right (like committing to enroll in a specific school or things like that)?
You should be fine. You won't be able to commit to enroll unless you get accepted.

I did not receive a return email after I sent them the requested information for my refund (name, address, email), but I received a check in the mail maybe about ~3-4 weeks afterwards.

Just to confirm with you all, we do not have to click either plan to enroll or commit to enroll just yet?
May 6 would be that deadline, correct?

It seems that for this particular school, yes that is correct. The April 30th deadline is a STRONG suggestion by AAMC, but the hard deadlines vary by school. However, for the consideration of other students and the admission committees, it would be ideal to commit to a school and withdraw all other applications if you have already made a decision.

Gotcha. I am just trying to

Gotcha. That’s a good point. Just want to make sure i am not affecting my chances at other schools where i am waitlisted.

You remain on alternate lists as long as you click "Plan to Enroll" to any school.

Does anyone know if they are still sending out interview invites? I have not heard anything since submitting my secondary last fall and no one answered when I tried calling today. Will they send a rejection letter or do they ghost applicants?

Last I heard, the last interview was April 17. However, ppl get different responses for the same questions. So it’s best to get you answer directly from them. Also, try calling the number on their actual website. So go to CUSM website, then admissions tab. There should be a direct number listed there. Don’t use the one from google. It never worked for me.

Hey, I am trying to get in contact with another applicant: If I met you at the USC interview and we chilled with one other student during out "down" time in between interviews, and then saw each other at the CUSM interview and discussed USC and you told me you were waitlisted, please message me!

Anyone know when immunization/physical exam is due? Is there a form we can have our PCP fill out? I got an email today but it was only about fin aid and loans. I ask because my insurance will change next month and I would like to get the PE done this month but do not yet know exactly what is needed.

are federal loans going to available this year? the financial aid email only mentioned private loans :/

These are the immunizations you'll need to have done. And I heard from another student who asked that they plan to have the check list of things that need to be done sent out by mid-May.

I think the earlier post is right. Its likely they wont move the WL again until thursday, since the CTE deadline for CUSM is May 6th, this wednesday. Finger crossed!!! But try to distract yourself until then!
Is it must be CTE? The email says either CTE or PTE by May 6th. right? Can we choose PTE?
