I got an II too! Complete 8/21. In state, URM (that's underrepresented minority right?), don't know what IE is so that's probably not for me.

Congrats! IE = inland empire, which encompasses Riverside, San Bernardino, Coachella, Ontario, Palm Springs

Does anyone know when Interview day typically ends? I wasn't really given a timetable on what to expect on Interview day. Would like to plan out the logistics

Guys, I got an II through my email yesterday which linked me to the portal where I signed up but I did not receive an email confirmation. Did this happen with you guys? Is it ok if I did not receive an email confirmation? Thank you.

Is it too late to send a secondary here? I am in-state but have ties to IE.

I also didn't get an email after signing up for the interview so they probably haven't sent anything out yet. I looked at last year's thread and someone posted the interview day schedule. It ended at 5 but there was an optional tour of Arrowhead hospital that ended at 6.

It's never too late and you never know what will happen. Yes, it's recommended to apply early but people still get II after applying later in the cycle.
Best of luck!

Wait does it matter if you sign up for the 8 am or 12pm interview on when the day would end?

Hey! Same, it just said something after scheduling it. No email but might get one later on? Idk
Yea I think so. It's just that if you didn't remember your date and time there's nowhere where you can find it haha. Would it be alright if I called tomorrow and asked about the email confirmation?

If it’s like my interview last cycle, the interview day is about 5 hours. I did the noon one last cycle and I was over around 5ish. But that also could have been because mine was so late. I didn’t get the chance to tour Arrowhead which I was bummed about.

I’m sorry I don’t remember 🙁 I signed up for mine so quickly

This is what was available 9/24 when I signed up for mine! Not sure on current availability!

I applied with a 504 but I saw that the school MCAT average was 513. Has anyone applied with a score much lower than 513 and get an interview? Just curious because I'm not sure if my goal is realistic anymore.

I remember them saying that for our class the range was something like 502-526, so if your other stats/ECs are up to par, then it’s definitely possible to get an interview

I have a 504 & I received an II last week so it's definitely possible! I do have strong ties to IE though so that may have played a role.

For those that haven’t got an interview here yet, on your portal does it say “your supplemental application will be placed in the queue for consideration of receiving a campus visit”? Is this a hold or a general prompt that’s shown after submitting the app?

n=1 but my portal does not say that

My portal says that as well.

It said that the minute you submitted.

The portal will not let me login. I followed their instructions to surpass the gateway error, but then when I enter my amcas username and pw it says that the combo is wrong. Any one else having this issue? I got an e-mail saying my application was received, but I'm worried that if I can't access the portal something may have happened.

Try using incognito mode on Chrome.

Just checked and mine is bringing the same error. Their site is probably just down temporarily.

So they addressed the error via an e-mail saying "When this error link appears on your web browser remove the word failure [from the web address], then hit enter". I did this and it got me past the error, but then I entered my amcas info again and it simply says my password is wrong. It's weird. I called and they said not to worry about it, as everything was fine on their end I guess

i was getting this error a couple weeks ago and then received an II. n=1 but take it as you will lol; i personally believe its just the crappy AMCAS portal system they use and the message has no bearing on the review of your application.

Would anyone who has already interviewed be willing to mention how the day went? It's my first med school interview (ever), and I'm pretty nervous!

I’m not 100% positive, but I think the first interview for this cycle is next Friday (10/11).

For me last year, it’s was 1-on-1 open file and overall pretty conversational. They asked me the standard questions like “why do you want to be a doctor? Why this school?” Etc. My advice would be to know your app well as they can get pretty specific and in depth with the questions. And of course have your answers nailed down for the most common ones.

Last piece of advice is to have a few questions for the interviewer. Things like “what decisions lead you to come to this school?” and whatnot. This is true for every single interview you go on and it shows a general interest and preparedness.

Above all, remain calm, cool and collected and be confident in your answers. They are interviewing you for a reason, good luck!

Thanks! Do you know if they're putting a greater emphasis on IE candidates this year? Hope your first year is going well!

No idea how it compares to last year tbh (like I mentioned earlier, I have zero connection to admissions), though I wouldn't really worry about it since it's not something you can control either way haha

For those who interview here (or planning to interview), how did you get to San Bernardino? The closet airport I can find is LAX, but the school is almost a 3-hour drive away?
If I was to drive from where I'm located, it'll be a 6.5 hours drive.

Look into Ontario airport if you’re planning to fly

for everyone else interviewing, the morning (8am) slot was finished by 1:15, so they definitely follow the schedule if you're trying to arrange a flight out. The staff and faculty were EXTREMELY nice and easy to talk to and you have the opportunity to interact with them more during lunch
They provided subway for lunch, and had coffee and snacks in the morning.
