2019-2020 Rush

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Perhaps those who got the email met their absurd 1000+ hr community service requirements?
Part of the email is " Please rest assured that your application is still under consideration." --- so doesn't that imply that those that didn't receive it (and were complete at similar times) are not under consideration? DON'T SHOOT ME - genuinely just curious....
is this the first year they are doing this?
Didn't get the email, have several times that requirement.

Didn't get the email, but I have 1100 volunteer hours and 5000 clinical hours. Complete 7/14. *cue internal screaming*

Oops. I interpreted II as secondary. My bad. I'm a little older and don't come on SDN as often.
Deleted my original post to avoid confusing anyone else.
Either way, congrats on submitting your secondary! I wish you the best 🙂

II TODAY!! Woooooo. Got it like 30 minutes before walking into another interview (not bragging I swear I’m nothing special). OOS, LM 67 ish, complete 8/5, first date available was 9/18, seemed like every Wednesday after. Service is kinda my calling card and i have a lootttttttt of it for context.

Secondaries took me longer than I expected. I submitted 15 schools already and plan to submit 5 more by the end of this week. This school is on my list. Do you guys think sending secondaries near the end of September will drastically reduce my chances for a II? 511 MCAT 3.6-3.8 gpa first gen economically disadvantaged.

I would appreciate any input!

Yes, usually people who submit late get an II because they have high stats, but even then the chances are lower than if they had submitted early or even on time.

generally speaking, a later application is at a disadvantage relative to an earlier one (also influenced by many confounding variables). its hard for anyone to say how your specific application will be viewed by the adcoms. that being said, you're later than most but you also miss every shot you don't take. if $$ isn't a concern then shoot

Complete early July and haven't heard anything back. Anyone in this same situation?
