Literally my heart skipped a beat and my heart rate spiked lmaoo
Did anyone else just get this weird “prospective applicant” email? Thanks for raising my heart rate for nothing SLU

+1 and Im still considering if I should apply here. I wonder if they send this to everyone or only people with high MCAT. I have a decent score but not super high. What you guys think?

I think I also fall into decent but not super high so it's probably to everyone? Just the first kinda pointless "here's our mission statement" email I've gotten..

I got one as well. I didn’t even score high (511) so I’m not even wasting my time as OOS

I also got one from Western Michigan congratulating me on my recent MCAT. Just makes me wonder if I should apply since they think I have a competitive score for their school or they just want my money lol.

Given that SLU is a mission-driven school, if you can show you would be a good fit for their program and that your values align with theirs, you might have a good shot.

Not to mention that MSAR lists the average MCAT of matriculating students as a 512. Even if you get waitlisted initially, theres always a chance of getting an A from the waitlist later on in the cycle.

I already looked into it. I feel like I would be a good fit but I wouldn’t satisfy the prerequisites. I have AP credits for my English classes and haven’t taken much in terms of humanities.

I also got a recruiting email, and my heart skipped a beat because I would LOVE to be accepted to St. Louis! I just didn't think I'd have much chance. I emailed their adcom a couple years ago and they recommended I take science courses at a good pace (I completed my undergrad in 2005), and I didn't do that. So, since I didn't take the advice I was personally given, I thought I shouldn't bother applying.

But I made a 511 on my MCAT, and got that email, and I'm going for it now!

I'm curious, though, if they know anything about me besides my MCAT. I checked the "Please make my score available" box when I took the MCAT; do they see anything else about my application?

my face when I forgot to mention to them that my mother taught at SLU med and did residency there...

Did everyone who completed the application receive an complete email? On my portal there is a green check mark beside the complete application, but I did not receive the complete email, and the communication status on the portal also did not show the completion message

I had the same issue. I emailed them and they said there was a glitch where some applicants didn't receive the complete email. If you want to know the day you were considered complete just email them!

I sent an ITA email a while ago, but now I'm wondering if I should have uploaded the message under documents instead. Do you guys think emailing them is sufficient? If not, I guess it doesn't matter anyways because my trip is coming up too soon.

Hey guys, M1 at SLU here to offer some support. Also feel free to ask any questions! The admissions office is really good about emails too so it should be easy to keep in touch with them if you need anything throughout the cycle. The SLU app is one of the more chill ones guys - don't stress over it too much.

Do you know

do you know when they start sending out II or how they review apps?

I got an II on like 8/12 for 9/9. I think I did this secondary the first day. First II.

Do you know

do you know when they start sending out II or how they review apps?

As others have posted, if you send the secondary in early, the first batch of II come out in August. I sent in my secondary about 2 weeks after it opened and got my II in November.

No one really gets details in terms of how they review internally. All I know is that the person who interviews you presents your application to the committee and then you get your decision within 4-6 weeks after you interview.

For those that have II, do you have this "SNMA and LMSA welcome letter"? It reads as if they think I'm URM and they're trying to help me out. I'm ORM and just want to make sure there wasn't a mistake somewhere with them thinking I'm URM.

It looks like they definitely think that you're latinx

Does anyone know how late they send out interviews? Getting nervous but I know it's early. Tulane and USC already filled up their slots just about I'm like really??? **** lol

They didn't fill up they're slots YET, but they're getting close. It seems like they're still scheduling in January, but that's not when they stop interviewing. Breathe, friend!

I received a really weird call from SLU recently

She said that, because I applied last year and interviewed with them already, I don't have to interview again. (I was placed on the waitlist.) I'll receive a decision on Oct. 15th.

I have no idea what this means. Kinda nervous and wish that she didn't call me in the first place lol

It sounds like a GOOD thing!

Do you have an II from the school? I’m trying to see if other people with the interview tab have that also.

I never received anything via e-mail or my application portal, so I don't technically have an II. It was all through the phone. Just curious if anyone else went through this.

That seems to mean that they liked you during your interview and now they just need to review the rest of your new app. It seems to me that SLU doesn't emphasize the interview as much as some other schools. (Dean of admissions always comes out and says that the interview is overrated.)

My friend here at SLU had the same situation as you last cycle and got accepted.
