Congrats to everyone that has received II. When were you all complete??
For those interviewing on Monday, are y'all going to the social Sunday night?!
Just received II (LM 70, IS)! Did anyone else have trouble using the scheduling calendar? I was only able to view the month of October (which had no available dates) and kept trying to click through to no use..
They have only sent interviews for the very first day so far! I doubt you've been skipped over, so try not to stress too much (easier said than done, I know). If you're a good fit, your time will come!Do they send rejections throughout the review process? I submitted 9/2 and see people who’ve submitted after me are receiving II’s. Does this mean I was put on hold for later review or likely rejected?

Oh my god I just got an II for 9/23. First one so far. IS LM 65. Complete 9/3
Looking at the tickets now... it's gonna cost me 1,000 to fly in. I dont want to ask for a later date but the flight cost is 3x what it normally is.
I got an interview spot for the second date (10/7 and 10/21 available i think)
I asked admissions and I believe that when 9/23 fills up, other dates will be available for selection. Call the admissions office and ask to confirm though. Good luck.Did you ask for it though? It looks like they gave you 9/23 initially! By people's posts, it would appear that only 9/23 has been sent out! I could definitely be wrong though!

i'm OOS too, can i ask your stats? i was complete 8/29 so hoping that i'm not silently rejected..I am from another state. No ties to TX.

Wow that’s lucky. I have never seen a southwest ticket for that much lol. Crazy.I did! It was 1100 through them. Thankfully the october date opened up and I was able to get a ticket from southwest for 300!
If it is under 1-2 weeks, they drop all low fares which means they go to full fare. They only time they are low few days in advance is if they are having a competing sale or if the flight is empty.Wow that’s lucky. I have never seen a southwest ticket for that much lol. Crazy.

No re-recordings- one take kinda thingHow much time do we get to review the prompts before answering the questions? Also, are we allowed to re-record if we misspeak during the recording or are unsatisfied with it?
Def requires quick thinking. Sorry im being vague, the stuff is confidential!Ok, was there adequate time between the reading of the prompt and answering? Or was it more of a "on-the-spot" response?
does anyone know if the MMI consists of traditional interview questions like "why medicine" or are MMI's all ethical scenerios ?
thank you that's very helpfulI pulled this from last year’s TCU thread posted by their account. Page 17. No idea if it will be the same this year.
“Are all of the stations scenarios based?
MMI stations may be presented as a traditional question (tell me about you), a situation or scenario and/or a role-play (with a Standardized Patient).
How long do we have to respond?
2-minute preparation and 7-minute conversation.
Do the prompt arbitrators answer questions/interact with you?
ANY MMI by design should be a conversation, even those that involve a role-play. MMIs are not a one-way interaction from either you or the interviewer (or Rater). Our Raters are trained to be conversational, welcoming and engaging.”
@SOM Admissions Hi Dr. Cunningham! I have tried calling the admissions office today to ask a question about pre-requisites and my course history. The number that is listed on the admissions website is not in service (or at least that is what my phone is telling me). Is there another phone number that I can call? Thank you so much!
@SOM Admissions Hi! I just had a question about the curriculum. I saw on the website that students spend 20 hours a week in structured activities, which is a lot compared to other schools. Since it is a flipped classroom, how have students been able to handle learning and reviewing the material during the rest of the week?
Has anyone had technical issues when filling out the secondary application? Or better yet, for the mission-fit inventories, did the timer start as soon as you clicked that section of the application even if you exited out (and didn't click begin/start, etc.)?
I checked out the application portal a couple of weeks ago to see what would be required of me and saw there were audio responses. There were instructions emphasizing that you would not be able to redo the questions so I exited out of the portal before I began any audio responses b/c I had poor wifi and had dogs in my room.
I went back on the application the other day and it says my responses were complete???? Has this happened to anyone else? Im currently talking with admissions, but it is looking like they won't do anything or otherwise think im being dishonest? I really dont appreciate having my integrity questioned.
**Disclaimer, I did the other "essay/audio" portion of the application and I did not start my responses until I clicked "begin", so I'm not sure what the issue is.
Mine still says "ready" and I interviewed yesterday.does application status stay "ready" until an II or does it go "under review"?
You are correct, it was a mistake to assume my integrity was being questioned and to post as such on SDN. I apologize and take full responsibility in that hasty response. Rather, I hoped that my integrity was not being questioned.I am sorry you feel your integrity is being questioned - we have to ask questions in order to isolate the issue. It is always better to have the conversation directly with our office rather than with folks on SDN.
Did all of you take a dedicated physiology course to fulfill the requirement? You are correct, it was a mistake to assume my integrity was being questioned and to post as such on SDN. SDN has always been a place I have sought answers to questions I had myself and wanted to use the platform as such. I have appreciated your responses in clarifying my problem.
Thank you.
You accidentally responded to my comment instead of posting a new question on the thread. But I can answer your question too!Did all of you take a dedicated physiology course to fulfill the requirement?
Ah, sorry! You accidentally responded to my comment instead of posting a new question on the thread. But I can answer your question too!
I know people who have taken A&P courses that had their credit satisfied without taking a single physiology class by itself. I would visit their site to be sure though. I took a class dedicated strictly to physiology, so I cannot say this with 100% certainty as I did not investigate this requirement too thoroughly.
Ahh, I thought you meant A&P, since it wasn't strictly Phys. But yeah, I haven't seen any schools accepting other bio courses for their phys requirement. Sorry I couldn't be of more help! There's always time to take the course in the Spring!Ah, sorry!
I never took a dedicated physiology course. I just received an email from admissions stating that they weren't sure if the biology course I selected to fulfill the requirement qualified. Just wondering if others had used non-physiology dedicated courses to fulfill the prerequisite!
I didn’t use this for any of the pre-reqs, but the college credit I received from courses taken in high school appeared on my college transcript as a transfer credit from that semester when I was still in HS. If yours is the same, I suggest you report it as such. How did you guys indicate that you fulfilled a prereq with AP credits?
Do I just write "AP-Statistics/Biostatistics"?
@SOM Admissions, I was wondering if you consider local applicants that wish to stay in the DFW area. My fiance is in law school and has a job offer in Dallas for after he graduates. I would love to stay here and avoid the long-distance aspect (I also love your schools vision and mission). Can I send a letter to the admissions office or is this something that does not play into your decisions?
Yes- see linked info Financial AidIs TCU eligible for FAFSA and school loans, especially that they're a brand new university (and not accredited yet)?
Congrats!! The MDAVD was an awesome experience. I really enjoyed my day. Everyone is super nice and welcoming. Go to the social if you can! It was nice talking with the current students and really helped me relax before the interview. If you have any questions, let me know! No one really talked about the interview day on here, but it was a great experience.II Just now! On the weekend, super unexpected and happy surprise when I checked my email! Thought it was going to be yahoo sports bugging me about my fantasy league again lol.
Complete 9/2

Great! As long as it isn’t about MMI specifics, I’ll do my best to answer 🙂Thanks! Shot you a PM with a few questions if you don't mind

Couple of things:
We are accredited - couldn’t have recruited a class if not. There are three “steps” in accreditation: prelim, provisional and full and we are now preparing for provisional. Each step is approximately 2 years apart.
Our aid is granted by TCU - FASFA Code 003636.
