2019-2020 Temple

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Agree with everyone that the interview day was very relaxed! Unfortunately had a great experience with one interviewer, and bad one with another, so leaves me feeling a bit anxious but overall good impression!

I have an interview here later this week. Has anyone interviewed here yet? Any tips/advice?

Compared to other interviews, I was asked some really specific questions about the essays I wrote...like I mentioned a program at Temple that interested me and my interviewer asked, "What do you know about *insert program*". Similarly, I was asked which activities I listed as most meaningful and why I selected them...

so I would advise to thoroughly review your primary and secondary

@ people who interviewed already. Do they do rolling admissions and if so did they provide an estimated # of weeks until you should expect to hear back?

They said they won't release any decisions until December, but some may not hear back until March (even from the pool that interviewed early)

EDIT: Early interviews should definitely hear accept/WL/reject in December

I’m pretty sure they said people who interview in September-November will all be in the first wave of decisions in December, but maybe I heard wrong. Interviewed last week.

How was the interview?? I'm interviewing this week and I've heard good things about it but this is my top school so I'm nervous!

I hope so too, can’t remember if they said for sure everyone will hear accept/WL/reject or if some may hangout in limbo

absolutely loved the tour, and my faculty interview, huge fan of the school. The closed file interview was also good but I was caught a little off guard by one or two questions. Also a really chill group of fellow interviewees, I enjoyed talking with them while we waited and got the chance to plug the memes I make for reddit

Thanks for the input! How did some of the questions catch you off guard? Were they tough/personal/weird/etc?

Does anyone know if the school is receptive to updates? Anyone send one yet?

Anyone know if the best way to follow up with a thank you post interview for here is as a written individually to each interviewer, email, or “update” upload?

P.S. Temple is amazing all of the students genuinely seemed so happy and there is a strong sense of community! 🙂
I think it is better if you write a thank you post email to each interviewer individually.

Hey, for anyone who has interviewed here already, does the day actually end at 3:30 PM, or earlier? Not sure if I should take the gamble and purchase a 3:15 PM train ticket vs. 6:50 PM........(interview tomorrow, send help please - rip)

Unfortunately it depends on when your interviews are....some people have both in the morning and are done after the tour (~2); others may have an afternoon interview...you won't know until you arrive

I take this to mean it’s 1 open file and 1 closed file?

Have they sent out rejections yet? Completed 7/31 and still nothing

Congrats! Out of curiosity (and neuroticism), is it 3am eastern or pacific? Also, please tell me your phone is on sleep mode so it doesn't wake you up! Congrats again!!

To answer your question (and to feed your neuroticism), it was 3am eastern time
