for people that were accepted off the CC list, did you send in updates/emails?
I sent a letter of intent on April 2nd and that's about it. I was put on the CC list in December after interviewing in September so I didn't go totally ham sending them but they couldn't hurt.

Hello! I was recently accepted off the waitlist, and was wondering if anyone can comment on how safe the school is/how safe the students feel there? Specifically getting to and from downtown Philly to the school in North Philly. Thank you!

I live a few blocks away from the school in North Philly and feel reasonably safe walking at any hour of the day and anytime at night up to ~10-11pm. If you mind your own business and don't do stupid stuff you'll be fine. The Broad Street Line which serves the med school has two stations Erie and Allegheny which are 2 blocks North or South respectively from the med school . Especially in the AM you'll be commuting with your classmates and there's safety there, but during morning and afternoon/evening commute times there's a strong Temple and Philly police presence on Broad, and even when there's not, Broad is heavily trafficked by police, vehicles, and pedestrians. If you're just moving between school and the subway, safety really isn't a serious concern until at least 11pm at night IMO. Temple also offers an escort service. Outside of Block 1 (Gross Anatomy) there isn't any pre-clinical studying that you couldn't do just as easily somewhere else, so no reason to be at school past 5pm unless you choose to be.

What do you think about owning a car to commute between where you live, say Center City, and school? Do you think it's a reasonable option?

Yeah, lots of people do that. There are two parking options -- a garage which you can leave your car in overnights and a parking lot. Both are a block and a half away from the med school building. I think the garage is $400ish a semester, the lot $2something? There's info on the Temple parking page if you want to research further.

I am on the waitlist and just got an email with the subject "Temple University Loan Info." The email was explaining things about loans for the school year. "We recommend waiting to secure your additional loan funding until early July for the upcoming school year." Did anyone else who has not been accepted yet receive this?

Is there an accepted students facebook group or groupme? I was recently accepted and want to start sorting out housing :)

It's taken quite a while in the past too, I think when I joined I wasn't added for 3 or 4 weeks.

Is there a requirement and location for submitting certain health records? I haven't seen anything and I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything. Also, do we need to send them the certaphi background check or do they get that?
They haven’t sent that information out yet! If you join the groupme this has been a hot topic

Your health records you'll just hang on to and submit during orientation. The immunization and physical you'll take directly to health services. They will not get your Certiphi check (or child abuse, etc) either, hang on to the link you get sent as you'll need to save a PDF from that and submit to the documentation portal as well.

Ngl after my neurotic self saw the fb group go up to 198, my heart dropped :(

While the majority are new admits, there are some upperclassmen in the group as well, so 198 is not entirely representative. Just wanted to throw that out there - hoping that you'll hear the good news soon!

Sorry if this was answered already but was there only one prompt ("Tell us why you selected your first choice ranked clinical/regional campus.")? Also what was the word/character limit on their question(s)? Thank you :)

any movement off the waitlist recently? trying to figure out if I should keep my hopes up anymore

Sorry if this was answered already but was there only one prompt ("Tell us why you selected your first choice ranked clinical/regional campus.")? Also what was the word/character limit on their question(s)? Thank you :)

There were a total of 4 prompts for the 2019-2020 cycle as listed below: *all with a 2000 character limit including spaces

1. What is the nature of your interest in the Lewis Katz School of Medicine?

2. How do you plan on contributing to the Lewis Katz School of Medicine Community? LKSOM seeks an engaged student body with a wide variety of backgrounds, experiences, perspectives, and interests to enhance the medical school experience for everyone. Please use the space below to describe what makes you unique as an applicant, an obstacle that you had to overcome, or how you will contribute to the LKSOM community.

3. Tell us about your special interest in the campus you selected. Our choices: St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem or Temple University Health System and Affiliates

4. What are your plans for the current year - June 2019 until June 2020?

do you guys think temple will send out a bunch of rejections after the CTE deadline tomorrow or do you think they'll torture all of us with false hope for another month

Any updates on waitlist movement? Did anyone reach out to the admissions office?

For the institutional action letter while I had submitted it on my AMCAS application I realized it is required to send in a letter to school as well. How do I submit that letter? Do I have my university send the letter to Temple Admissions directly or do I receive it from my school and I put it on the secondary portal? I am applying for the 2020-2021 cycle so the secondary portal has not yet opened.

Please, can any of you post the secondary questions from the 2019-2020 cycle?

Still radio silence from temple since the questionnaire... when do they send out their rejections for waitlist?

Does Temple admissions offer meetings to go over your application decision if you were waitlisted --> rejected?
