Interview Feedback: University of Rochester

Interested in Rochester, but skimming over MSAR it looks like they have a massive in-state bias, at least for the interview phase. Can any current students speak to this?

hey, not a current student but I interviewed here and I got the impression that they want to make sure potential students like/wouldn’t mind living in upstate NY. I had lived in upstate NY before and was asked about it.

There are no prompts. In the past, Rochester has asked applicants to complete essays if you are given an interview invite

I had the same issue but then went to the main login page and clicked forgot password. Got a link to set a new password within an hour or so and it's working now.

I received the following email a couple hours ago: "Thank you for your email and apologies for the inconvenience in creating your password. I have alerted our software developers and once the issue has been resolved, we will let you know."

I got two of the same forgot password emails even though I clicked the link once. The first says invalid token but the second worked for me. They were nested like replies in my inbox.

Nope...I might have clicked the reset button one too many times cause every few hours I get a new password reset link. I'm up to 14 now, all of which have been invalid.

I finally got it to work for me after a few attempts. Here's what worked for me: I requested the password and waited for the email. I opened the email within a few minutes of me receiving it, which led to the invalid token message. I then requested the password reset which I then got an email for (I hadn't received any password reset emails from my previous requests). Then I was able to log in.

My letters of rec were delivered 5 days ago but I still have a red X next to the box when I check my application status. Anyone have a similar issue? Interestingly, when I click on the letters of rec link on their portal, I see my committee letter listed....but there's still a red X on the status tab.

I have already submitted my secondary application and my Committee Letter was received on July 8th but for some reason, I'm still being considered incomplete? I have also completed the Casper.

I submitted yesterday, and I was initially showing as incomplete even though the CASPer website says that they delivered my scores already.

The portal apparently updated overnight, because I awoke to an email from Rochester stating I was complete. I just double-checked the portal, and they now show that they've received my CASPer scores.

Give it a couple days, and if you're still not seeing your CASPer scores, give them a call.

No, I haven’t yet. I suppose I should tomorrow, huh? Some posts by other users had me thinking that if I just gave it a day or two that it would sort itself out.

Hey, I called this morning and the admissions office told me that this is happening to a lot of people but not to worry about it. He said there’s an issue with some software that’s downloading the documents and sorting them to our files. There’s nothing we can do, but it’ll sort itself out shortly.

I ended up emailing them yesterday since it'd been over a week. No reply from them but glad to know. Thanks for letting me know!
