First two years, I hear no complaints. It's just a little more competitive.
Clerkships require 6 months outside of King County, and I think like 3-4 months inside the county. It's a lot of bouncing around apartments, which apparently aren't bad. Still, that's a lot of suitcase living. Maybe no biggy to a 24-year-old single person, but to the parent with a spouse and a mortgage, much bigger deal. UW is not the only school that does this.
UWMC residencies, which a lot of UW students Match to, not so great on quality of life. Less vacation. Less pay. Less consideration for basic human needs, like eating. Follow UWHA online to hear the deets. Hopefully it improves as the union grows more influential.
