Great honest answer! Thank you!! I’m excited for my interview, but I’m bummed it is 11 weeks away!

Thank you! This makes me relax a lot!

I wish you both luck! How many seats are available for Seattle applicants?
Class of 100, 10 of which are MSTP. So 90 MD seats. Unfortunately because of the MSAR data being lumped together across campuses, can't tell how many acceptances go out specifically for Seattle. I've heard about 1/3 of interviewees in Seattle get an acceptance-- it's definitely lower than the other campuses.

It sounds like it. Pretty competitive. In Wyoming, I know we have 20 seats and I believe 40-60 interviews. So Pretty great odds.

I emailed the Laramie office about acceptance statistics for the last few years and they basically said, “if you can handle med school you’ll get an interview.”

Haha, well that’s pretty nonspecific.... I got an interview, although I am a reapplicant. I have done everything they suggested after my rejection two years ago. Honestly I’m thankful I didn’t get in then, I’ve had a chance to grow up and rediscover passion in medicine. Here’s to hoping!:xf:

Jeez. I can't tell if that's supposed to be comforting or insulting...?

I think what he meant was that like 80% of people get an interview who apply from Wyoming so... both comforting and insulting?

Does anyone have any input on their interview experience? How was the role play component?

Late to the party here!

The Wyoming interview is setup just like all the other campuses structurally, but I believe it is lower key than Seattle. Every year they do 40-50 interviews for Wyoming and shoot for eight to nine applicants per day. There are no massive crowds or being herded around like cattle. Applicants are given an area to hang out in prior to the interview with water and light snacks. You are then given a tour of the facility (it's not very big so doesn't take long) and can have lunch with some of the current M1 and M2 students.

The mock interview you've been offered is an excellent tool to use. Of course the scenario question(s) are different than what you will encounter on interview day, but they are of the same difficulty. I would recommend using the mock interview over internet thingy.

Just a side hint: You are given an interview packet/folder once you arrive and check in. In it are little things about Laramie and WWAMI in general, but it also has a list of the people who will be interviewing you. If you arrive a bit early and get this list you can sit and Google them in the waiting area. It doesn't confer any special powers or somehow anoint you but you at least get to walk in knowing SOMETHING about their background. Doing this put me at ease as I nervously sat there sweating.

The entire WWAMI system has been a mindbogglingly incredible machine to be part of. The Wyoming staff are just the cherry on top and are truly vested in how you are doing as a person and will use any resource to help the students. As a Wyoming resident, this was my top choice school. Having been there for awhile now I can absolutely say that it was the right move for me.

Good luck!

Wow. Thank you! This post is great and just what I was looking for. I think I will utilize the mock interview over Skype, just because. At this point, I’m old enough to feel a little relaxed and confident but not foolishly so. I have worked hard to get here, my wife and daughter have sacrificed a lot for my opportunities, so I feel like I am beyond ready to make the next move. If that happens to be with WWAMI, I would be elated! Trying to keep my hopes and expectations grounded is becoming difficult as time creeps on. How far into the program are you, if you don’t mind my asking?

Just a little M1 at this point. There are quite a few M1/M2s that are married and a couple in each class have children. The program seems to work well with the non-traditional student.

Does anyone have advice for Spokane interviews? Thanks!

Does anyone know around when the ExCom meets for the Seattle campus? Have any acceptances been sent out yet?
One so far. Should hear a decision or Still Under Consideration (SUC) email any day now then again in December. The fact we havent heard anything yet makes me think a wave of decisions should be coming out soon and they are maybe just behind.

Montana does their interviews in January. What is the latest date in which they would be offering IIs? Pre-Christmas?

Ugh your post made my heart drop, thought it was going to be this week

Sorry I really really really didn't want to post it, because I knew it might cause that reaction....but then like a crazy person, I couldn't help myself!

II for Washington today! I am SO relieved and excited. Does anyone have any insight on interview location? The school gave me an option to choose either Seattle and Spokane, and I'm a bit torn about my decision because of timing. For Spokane, I'll have to interview in February (they only have 2 dates, and the first one is this weekend) whereas for Seattle, they have dates starting in December. But then again the interview cohort for Seattle is 4 times that of Spokane. Any insight/advice will be greatly appreciated, I'm trying to make a decision ASAP!

They meet Fridays yes? Should be tomorrow or next Friday.

Does anyone know who interviews are decided by for non-Washington WWAMI states? Like, does each state have their own committee that decides who gets interviews or does a central committee decide from each state’s pool of applicants?

Each state has their own committee, but my understanding is that those in Seattle still contribute to decisions.

Got a call from a 415 area code which is weird, but I don't think my excom is from San fra

Congrats!! Do you feel like you slayed your interview?

Not going to lie felt really good about it. I just vibed really well with the interviewers and school culture in general (especially compared to the other interviews I have attended), and it just felt like the perfect fit. Good luck everyone, wish you all the absolute best!

OOR, got the call from one of my interviewers who said he presented me to the meeting today because my excom member was out. Elated!!!!
Really hoping that my excom was just out today at this point... Probably too late for an A call today.

On the bright side today's interview at UNLV went great. Just wish i didn't have that OOR issue.
