2019-2020 Vermont

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
same, I figure they did all the IS applications in dec and will hand out decisions for us hopefully in jan
They told us at my interview that December decisions will be dedicated only to IS.

Are they done sending interviews here? I've had radio silence since submitting my application in August....

They are not, just got an invite today. Complete early September. Interview dates are as early as next week up until mid February

II today! Complete late August.

Does anyone know how generous UVM is with financial aid/merit scholarships? I don't have crazy stats by any means but looking at threads from years past, it seems a couple people with average stats were offered $. I was already accepted to my top choice, so trying to gauge whether it's worth taking another day off work to attend this interview..

So just to be sure - 100% there is no way / point to updating Vermont? Has anyone even tried to, and did you get a response?

I sent an update back in October, got a reply thanking me for sending it, and got an II today. So I would go for it

Email acceptance! Connecticut campus 🙂

Is Vermont rolling admissions? When do they usually stop offering IIs?
Well when I was offered the II yesterday the only 2 dates available were the last two interview dates. Therefore I would argue that there are only a few dozen II left to be sent out by those who withdraw.

They just sent out an email regarding FAFSA. UVM’s priority financial aid deadline is February 1, 2020
Was it sent to just accepted applicants? Didn't receive it so just wondering...

Is there somewhere to place luggage on the interview day?

As far I remembered, there was only a small coat closet for hanging small belongings. They were pretty nice though, so I'm sure they'd be accommodating somehow if you had more things.

^Following.

I'm in the same boat. I'm inclined to get a tote/duffle handbag instead of a suitcase at this point...

Everyones coat was stored in a closet in their student affairs? Office. I think I remember seeing some luggage there too.

Does anyone here know if they are done inviting OOS to interview? 🙁😵
Well when I got my interview last week only the last day was available. So the remaining II will probably filling in those who withdraw II. So some to come but not many.

I think all OOS applicants from 11/1 onward are still waiting to hear, along with some folks from 10/25. Fingers crossed that it's sooner rather than later!

I'm in this 10/25 group - I believe they told us at this interview that we should hear within 2 weeks to Jan, so really hopeful it will be either next week or by the end of this month.

I was told late January at the soonest when I interviewed in November

Does anyone happen to know when they draw from their alternate lists? Is it continuous throughout the cycle or is it after the cyms date?

high priority starting in May. Regular alternate list maybenever ? Maybe a Few?

Are there any current students here who can speak on the pros and cons of the Vermont and Connecticut campus clerkships?

Would also love to know more about this! I am torn between the two.

During the day you will:

  • Meet with the Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at The University of Vermont faculty, staff, and students
  • Participate in a circuit where you will speak with several interviewers
  • Have a chance to demonstrate your teamwork and communication skills
  • Learn about UVM's award-winning Vermont Integrated Curriculum
  • Have a lunch conversation about "A Silent Curriculum" with current medical students

So is there a groupwork session during the interview?
