There will likely be very few post II rejections because 25-35% of the Waitlist Accepted is 107 accepted individuals, translating to about 350 people on the waitlist. Considering that they interview approximately 400-500 people, basically everyone who interviews will be waitlisted.

Where are you getting 107 from? Where did you see that 74% of the incoming class comes from the waitlist?

But if they keep all these people on the waitlist, they're going to have to reject most of them eventually because they cannot admit them all

Right, but the question was about post-II rejections, not rejections off the waitlist in May.

Its public on MSAR. 74% of class does not come from waitlist, 25% does

Oh dang you're right! The number I was thinking in my head was 35--i.e. ~25% of the class size. I wasn't even considering that they'd offer lots more acceptances to WL applicants than that because not all will matriculate haha. I just checked MSAR and you're right! Wow that makes me feel so much better.

At my interview they said that in previous years they have put people on the waitlist and pulled them off throughout the cycle, but that they are not planning on doing it that way this year. So their will likely be fewer from the waitlist this year.

so by that math, aren’t we looking at 285 on the wait list? 504 interviews and 326 offers. If 107 of those offers were from waitlist, then that means 219 were first round picks. 504-219 is 285. So we’re looking at a maximum 285 person list with about 37.5% coming off, if they waitlist every person who interviewed. Of those 107 people, only 33% - 46% accept their offer and join the class.

Applied in June and never received secondary e-mail. 5 months later, I just received a reminder to complete secondary before the deadline. Lol.

Thought they didn’t send me a secondary. Turns out they just forgot to send me an e-mail. :smack:

really? When was your interview? I called them last week and she said we may pull from the Waitlist earlier.. I just wanna know so I know whether to write my letter now or I can chill!

i’m in the same boat... considering they have sent out tons of rejections already and we applied so early i’m assuming no news may be good news. hopefully we hear something soon!

Same here! Im IS, 3.65/510, and a returned Peace corps volunteer. I got IIs at several schools that are more highly selective. Where did i go wrong, Wake??🙁

Seriously, y'all need to understand that Wake received 10,500 applications last year (and likely even more this year). Imagine having a committee of only a few people try to read that many applications in just a few months. If you haven't heard anything yet, it just means they haven't gotten to you yet.

It's also important to note that not every school has the same criteria for admission. Getting an II at one school that is more selective doesn't guarantee you an II anywhere else. I've heard stories of people getting into Stanford but nowhere else.

For those who were waitlisted, my interview group was told waitlisted applicants will likely start being offered no earlier than May 1. Hopefully that helps clear some of the uncertainty.

I found a facebook group for accepted students (called "Wake Forest School of Medicine Class of 2024")! Excited to start the journey!

Does anyone have any recommendations on where to stay prior to the interview? Just looking for a cheap option.

I stayed at the Hampton Inn in Downtown Winston-Salem. Good area close to lots of food options and about a 5 minute uber ride to the med school. They also sent the option for student hosts, but I believe there was a due date to sign up. Might want to check your interview confirmation for that.

hawthorne inn winston salem was great too

Anyone know if Wake is receptive to ITA emails? Sorry if this was already discussed and I missed it!

Can anyone remind me of the post-II acceptance rate roughly? That chart going around doesn't seem to be right

For those who have been accepted, they haven't asked us for any deposit to hold our seat right? Like just that yes or no question on the portal about accepting their offer.

no deposit!

Submitted my application and everything on the 15th and still heard nothing yet, also didn’t get an interview and didn’t submit test score. 3.6(uw) and 4.18 weighted GPA, with decent ECs and letters of rec. Still here anxiously waiting for my mail, but I really see no hope because they didn’t even contact me for an interview, and my friend who submitted the interview request form later than I did even got an interview. How screwed am I? : (

Waitlisted here yesterday but followed by an acceptance elsewhere today. I Interviewed earlier this week, I do appreciate how fast a turnaround it was.

Congrats! That’s amazing news! I was wondering when did you submit your interview request and when did they contact you back?
