Anyone who was complete end of September/early October hear anything yet regarding interviews? I just realized I was 'complete' 9/30 because of retaking my MCAT and based on the other comments, I'll probably be getting another pre-II R next week :scared:

Still crickets. Complete 9/16 LM 73.4 Think I'm in the marginal pool. Hope to hear something soon. I know it isn't technically late, but it is beginning to feel like it is!

For those who have interviewed already... how far in advance did they tell you your interview slot? From what I understand the interview lasts 30ish minutes and it’s one on one, but that’s about all I know. Any general overview or advice would be much appreciated!

What’s the marginal pool?
Schools typically review all applications quickly and essentially prioritize them... what the “marginal pool” is referring to is when they don’t want to reject an applicant after reviewing them but they also don’t want to immediately dive deeper into the application for a potential II.
That applicant will basically go into a different priority level where they will be reviewed a little later and then either be receive an R, a hold, or an II.

For applicants that were accepted, did you send LOI/updates after your interview? I know GU likes letters but was not sure if I need to send one or wait until decisions are made and submit it if I am on the WL. I interviewed 11/10. Any advice is highly appreciated!

Hey everyone! I hope this cycle has been going well so far 🙂
I just had a quick question, for anyone who's been admitted, did you send the school anything between the time you interviewed and the 8-10 weeks you were waiting to hear back?
I would love to send a letter of my continued interest (currently 5ish weeks post interview), but I don't know if this is something I should do now? Or something I need wait and do only if I am waitlisted.
Any advice? This is my top choice, so I want to do all that I can lol.

Thank you all in advance!

I sent a combined update/letter of interest (more of an update) in the waiting period. Once you get your decision, you lose access to the post-submission update tab, so I think it makes sense to send something if you want. I got waitlisted though, so who's to say it made much of a difference

What is the info session like?
Different presentations from dean of admissions, the diversity people, the financial aid people, maybe some other people. Panel discussion with 5 or so med students. All done in about 3 hours. What I really remember is how badly I had to pee and there were no specific breaks.

Thank you!!
Do we talk at all or is mostly just listening to the presentations?

Yes absolutely. I think most of the presentations were somewhat interactive and had time for Q&A at the end (maybe not the dean of admissions' presentation) - lot of time for questions during the student panel. That might have lasted like 45 min or an hour.

What is your reasoning behind declining?
4 A's - 3 of them I like better than Georgetown and the other is something of a tossup (liked it better but lower rank). Interview experience was sort of off-putting tbh and didn't get all that warm a vibe. Also don't really feel like playing the whole love-letter game to get off the WL.
